It’s Been 6 Months Since I Purchased Bath & Body Works Candles But in 22 Days…
Jared from Silicon Valley wrote a letter to his future 40 year old self and I thought, well wow, I should write a note to my future self too. So, consider this a letter to my future self about Bath & Body Works Candles because in 22 days I’ll be able to purchase the Fall 2017 Collection and I’ll be wallowing in the joys of autumn scents. I make no apologies that this isn’t a letter for years into the future and only one for a month time frame. Consider it a reminder of sorts if you will! I also make no apologies for wishing away Summer and rushing in the Fall.
You see, I haven’t technically purchased a Bath & Body Works Candle in at least 6 months or more. Please, hold your applause although pats on the back are welcome.
I fear I’ve stockpiled a little too many candles. I mean remember that time I admitted that my shower gel collection may have surpassed my makeup one? I’m starting to feel like my candle collection has surpassed both shower gel and makeup. This is really bad because now I feel like a hoarder.
I backed up a little and put myself on a semi-ban of sorts. No more big candle sale hauls, no more grabbing two of the same because it smells so great and it’s limited edition, no more, period, the end. And you know what? Bath & Body Works made it easy to quit candles because just like their fragrance collections things started to become repetitive. They were releasing candles with new names that had been launched before with some other name. It was actually easy to avoid a purchase when the scent was the same and the name was just different. At some point, it all started running together and I was like, “Thanks BBW! That made it easy to keep my ban!”
Sadly, I know the ban will be lifted come Fall.
Fall arrives July 22nd, so brace yourselves, there will be many candles coming home for me.
How are you doing with your candle addiction?
Hanging tight?
Or still hoarding them like the lights will go out in Georgia anytime now?
Good Luck! I have confidence that you can make it to Fall without buying a single candle.
Stay strong my friends!
