About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Who would think that Jean Michel collection would be on sale so quickly. I bought the blush palette last month at full price. Now it is 30% off.

  • Denise

Nordstrom and Macy’s have the sale prices too, and all beauty ships free at Macy’s!

So excited! I picked up the Anatomy eyeliner. I’m good on palettes and lipsticks for now (though Epigram is mighty tempting …) 😉

  • Kimberly

I kid you not I just bought both palettes last Sunday at Sephora. I’d like a palm to the face now please.

      Hey,

You should check your credit card’s price match policy. I have the Discover card and they usually cover situations like this. I just call and file a price claim, scan my invoice, screenshot the reduced price. And voila!

I’m starting to get overwhelmed by companies putting out new releases every week and making them LE. I like to check reviews before I buy stuff and this makes it tough. I wish they would all focus on quality instead of quantity.

Yeah, this is getting ridiculous. These palettes just came out and now they are on sale? This has happened in the past too. I think the market is just over saturated. I feel bad for the people who paid full price for this collection only to see it on sale a few weeks later. These companies need to just lower their prices in general, across the board so we can actually afford to buy things. I mean they end up putting things on sale anyway so what’s the dang difference?

And this is why I never buy Urban Decay limited edition… I was burned twice by this company with paying full price and then it being marked down a handful of weeks later. Disappointing.

On sale at Ulta too, at least online.

I was surprised the latest Tarte palette, the shimmery mermaid one, can’t recall the name offhand, went on sale so quickly too.

It’s a tough spot to be in (although, first world problem, amirite?) — makeup lovers get caught between FOMO and paying what I call the “ASAP tax.”

    • Jennifer

I know “first world problems” so silly. It’s easy to get caught up with the excitement of some of these items. But in the end, it is just makeup and there are far worse things in the world than missing out on the newest palette.

That being said… I’m a little disappointed that I missed the newest shade of the Stila glitter eye stuff that apparently dropped and sold this weekend at sephora with no warning or fanfare….

I really wanted one of the lipsticks from the collection and told myself, just wait, because they’ll be marking it down, maybe in August or something. Sure enough, they did, just a lot sooner than I expected. That’s cool for those who waited, but I feel bad for those who paid full price. Sephora and Ulta should really give some extra double points or something to those who spent the full amount. If I had done so, I know I’d be complaining to them.
