Lush Smuggler’s Soul Facial Scrub Limited Edition? How Foolish!
I can’t believe that Lush Smuggler’s Soul Facial Scrub is limited edition! Why is it when I love something it suddenly becomes impossible to find? And the worst part is I can’t even hoard away some Smuggler’s Soul Facial Scrub if I wanted to since it’ll go bad fairly quickly. Damn.
What is it?
How does it work?
Why do I love it?

Lush Smuggler’s Soul Facial Scrub ($8.95) is still being stocked in stores but it is sold out online. If you want it after reading this review I recommend hauling your butt over to your Lush store and grabbing it before it disappears. I have hopes that Lush will see the error of their ways because I love this stuff. Lush launched this for Father’s Day and it was created with dudes in mind but really, anyone can use it.
The thing is, I prefer physical exfoliators over chemical ones but ironically they tend to make me drier! Lucky enough, Lush created this awesome facial scrub with a blend of argan oil, olive oil, and shea butter so it never leaves my skin feeling too sizes too small. I use it once a week (sometimes twice if I’m feeling frisky) and I never feel like it strips or dries my skin out.
It’s a creamy yet slightly dense textured formula that feels almost balm-y on my skin and contains super fine granules of bamboo that act to gentle exfoliate skin. It also apparently contains papaya juice to brighten skin but I’m not sure if it’s the papaya or the scrubbing that leaves me brighter! I’m going with the scrubbing 🙂
Simply wet your face, scoop about a quarter-size amount out, and gently work into your skin. After just rinse it off! It quite reminds me of Philosophy’s The Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash as the grains in this formula are very, very fine yet still act to give a good deep scrub. It whisks away dry skin easily and leaves my skin super soft and super smooth. I’m not particularly keen on the smoky sandalwood fragrance but it isn’t overwhelming thankfully and it isn’t long lasting.
All in all, a most excellent scrub. What a shame it’s limited edition. Hopefully they bring it back next Father’s Day or perhaps make it available permanently.
Head to your store and grab some before it disappears.
