About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Right? One of our local restaurants has a condiment called boom-boom sauce. Who comes up w this ?

  • Sarah

Man I want this to erase my crow’s feet and that little furrow between my brows because I am a very serious person. With a name like Secret Sauce and with it saying it’s a miracle, I want to bet it is.

…maybe after I get paid. $68 is pretty average for anti-aging pricing, but still.

  • Caitlin

“Diamond powder” is listed before any of the Matryxl peptides, and not a single anti-aging ingredient is on that label before “fragrance.” The miraculous part would be it achieving anything besides decent hydration with almost no actives in the formula. Wish they spent some of that hype budget on better formulation!

I agree! The ingredient deck is looong and fragrance is right up at the top. Yuck. All those lovely fermented bits are somewhere at middle to end of this massive list. Plus, secret sauce? Really? Makes me think of a hamburger.

  • Susan

It sounds wonderful, but the jar packaging again? Darn. I’m sure they know that just allows all the good ingredients to deteriorate faster. Sad face…

  • Dinah

Since most of the actives are considerably after the preservative phenoxyethanol this is an easy pass for me. The before and after pics rarely ever influence my decision to buy. Since there is no way of knowing what the person’s skin care routine was and if they skipped taking care of their skin so it could look bad and then use this secret sauce and claim a miracle. Besides, I still can’t believe they chose a JAR!!!!

    A. Secret Sauce :/
    B. That is a ton of money for any product.

any less expensive illuminating moisturizers out there??

  • Susan

I don’t believe any more that anything claiming to be miraculous actually is.

    Snake oil.

  • Jan

The list of ingredients is ridiculous! Not sure of the efficacy. Seriously all of that in one product!

  • Brandy

Secret Sauce just sounds like semen which would probably be just as effective as this overpriced, fragranced moisturizer in a jar. I’ll save my money and get Botox when I’m older.

  • JY

    IT’s “Drops of Light Technology” = shimmer. That’s a no-go for me.

See….once they suck you in you’re in for a ride that costs more money. They’re only in it to become millionaires and we just hand over our hard earned money to help them achieve their goal.

  • Sara

I think the “confidence in a cream” sucks…so I have my doubts about this…
