Ulta Store In Manhattan and Innisfree Too!

Hey, fellow Gothamites an Ulta Store in Manhattan is coming your way for Fall 2017! Ulta is finally opening its first Manhattan storefront on the Upper East Side. The Ulta Manhattan location will be 12,000 square feet and apparently brands are working on new launches for the location. The store will be located at 184 East 86th Street.

Ulta has plans to open up close to 100 stores a year until their number reaches 1,700 stores nationwide (there are currently 1,400 stores).

Another interesting and exciting store opening in Manhattan this Fall is Korean brand, Innisfree! The flagship store will be in Union Square (862 Broadway) and will have the entire Innisfree Collection available. The store will also offer a recycling rewards program that allows customers to drop off their empty bottles for points.

WWD reports today several other exciting stores opening this Fall and into 2018 including an Hourglass Cosmetics store!

As per our discussion lately, Ulta continues to grow daily with many new brands, new rewards, and now new locations. According to reports the beauty and makeup industry shows a 12% growth for the last few years and Ulta obviously has their eye on part of that prize as they offer customers new and exciting ways to get their beauty fix.

Look out Sephora, here comes Ulta!

Are you a New Yorker excited for the opening of an Ulta store?

Do share!

That is good news for a fellow NYer. Love the UES (this is probably close to MMA which I love love love) although I prefer my old stomping ground of Union Square.

About time! Have often wondered why there was no ULTA in Manhattan. I did hear sometime in the past year (maybe from you?) that one was opening and thought it might be on the UES — although there was a big empty storefront on 86th and Lex that I thought could be a likely spot and this seems to be on 86th and 3rd (but I was awfully close!) There is so much competition — so many Sephoras (including one on 86th St.) and so many big drugstores (and retail cosmetic stores and department stores, etc.) but obviously also a huge appetite for beauty products. I am excited to visit/shop!I almost never go to ULTA — occasionally when I’m in NJ and I think I’ve been to the Queens one once.

Sheeeee…..it. For a nanosecond, I thought Ulta was taking on Innisfree. Call Boston a semi-Asian/KB wasteland. Thank god for Amazon. Though I can’t believe U wasn’t open in Manhattan. Step 1: Ship to Canada. Step 2: Conquer Manhattan. Step 3: Break all debit/credit cards. Step 4: Conquer the world. Well, still wish they had Innisfree. Glad they landed.

I am very envious of you living and working in NY. I live in Florida and it is a dead State. Truly the only thing we have are nice beaches and Disney World. There is nothing exciting about this State at all. I went to FSU and never left the capital. It’s a freakin’ black hole. At my age, I should gather the courage to say, let’s move. But, it’s easier said than done. Very happy you are getting a new Ulta. Our Ulta here just had a renovation and it is looking more and more like a Sephora. But, there is just something more sophisticated about Sephora. Maybe, it’s my weird head. Anyways, happy weekend.

Florida is a beautiful state but no offense at all I couldn’t live there. I’d miss the seasons too much 🙂 Saying “Let’s move to another state!” sounds pretty simple enough but I know what you mean when you say it isn’t. When you’re used to something and you know something really well it’s difficult to just pull roots up and move somewhere else. I agree about Sephora have a more chic, luxury feel! Ulta reminds me of a drugstore! Happy Weekend!

Wow, maybe Innisfree will start a U.S. based website & online ordering!

I love my hometown (Pittsburgh) and we have quite a good assortment of beauty options given our size, but I just love visiting NYC & going crazy… ; )

I’m an Australian who’s excited by an Ulta opening in manhattan! I visit New York every year and have always wanted to go to an Ulta but they are just a bit too out of the way to fit a visit in with our other plans. Looking forward to our 2018 visit even more now!

I just moved up to NYC (Brooklyn where you at!), so I’m excited to see that they’re opening one in Manhattan – I missed having Ulta near me.

Well, Ulta can move here to Australia and take on all those expensive beauty department stores and make them think twice about their prices and stocks! Just come to Melbourne first!
I think it’s about time that one of the greatest cities in the world has its very own big Ulta!
Not that you need any encouragement Muse!

  • Merry

Actually, Sephora owns Ulta, so there’s no real competition. I just recently found out.

sephora doesn’t own ulta. That’s an internet rumor that’s been circulating for the past few months.
