Clinique Sweet As Honey Eyeshadow Palette for Holiday 2017

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Clinique Sweet As Honey Eyeshadow Palette is a new, limited edition eyeshadow palette that contains 14 shades inspired by the cult favorite lipstick, Black Honey. A few years ago Clinique did an entire Black Honey Collection that featured a Clinique Color Surge Eyeshadow Quad in Black Honey but nothing as big as the Sweet As Honey Eyeshadow Palette which includes a whooping 14 different shades.

Black Honey has always been a universally flattering vampy berry shade that’s always had cult status but it seems to come back to life around the Fall season as it’s a shade everyone commonly embraces around this time of the year. A quick glance at the promo images reveals this palette as having a lovely selection of berries, dusky roses, wines, and burgundies. All very Black Honey inspired shades.

The Clinique Sweet As Honey Eyeshadow Palette is $32.50 at Sephora.com.

I’m debating whether I need this one or not!

What do you think?

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. I want this as I love the black honey line and it’s so pretty- but I don’t think I could actually wear any of those colors. Like the UD Fire Palette- great looks, but can’t wear them.

I’m so glad you asked. I saw this and the colors in the promo image called to me BUT I have given up on Clinique eye shadows. I got sucked in a few years back when they released those six pan palettes and they were typical Clinique shadows: sheer, barely there, crappy shadows. Don’t do it! There are too many other good things coming down the pipeline.

That’s too funny. I was thinking to ask, are Clinique shadows any good now? And now I know. But it did sucker me in…just my colorways. Thanks for the save….though if I see it, I’ll swatch it. Kind of thought they might have improved the shadows, bec cheek pops are so decent (esp cola and black honey pops, which make you invent this palette in your make up mind…)

Oh I think I need it! Everyone seems to pick on Clinique and look down their nose at them in favor of high priced more “elite ” brands. I love Clinique I have been faithful to them since high school they have some great products in their line I like Dior and YSL and all those prestige brands too but Clinique is always on my bathroom counter in my makeup bag and in my heart❤️❤️

While this looks very pretty and the price is shockingly low, their eyeshadows are nothing to write home about. I think their formula is very lacking when compared to other similarly priced palettes.
But I know you really like Clinique so yeah, you should totally get it, even in the interest of purchasing it “for the blog”.

Ooooo… that’s pretty. I wonder how frosty some of those shadows are? And I wonder about pigmentation too…. Clinique has always been pretty lackluster in the eyeshadow pigmentation department; wonder if these are any better?

Man, I loved that black honey collex from several years back… I wish they’d basically re-release it again. I’d be all over that. Hmmm… I know I have a black honey stick gloss hiding around here somewhere… I need to find that thing! 😀

Looks very pretty although not sure I personally know how to wear these shades. Also looks like there’s a lot of duplication (or near duplication) within the palette. Will be interested in your review if you purchase (but understand if you don’t).

The voice of reason? Moi? The same person who ordered the new Marc Jacobs palette and the new Natasha Denona palette this past week? Not I!

As far as Clinique, I do like some of their skin care items and their eye make up remover is my second fave (behind Lancome). But their eye shadows suck IMO and in my experience.

LOL! ;-D OMG! Cheeky girl! Cleansing Balm for the WIN! that stuff is awesome. Their eyeshadows vary for me, some are fab, some suck!

Go you palette ho! Good acquisitions! I’m in a gotta stop, can’t stop mode. TOFATS. Too old for… but that mjb. Mmmmm. Part of the prob for me is that once I’ve gone there, I can justify going again….and I got the first mjb 20. I have successfully avoided starting Huda and ND, and plan to continue. Good thing I’m not younger.

I wonder how many are matte? I like Clinique but there is usually not a lot of pigment and too much satin or shimmer.

I actually really like the Clinique formula. I tried their 8- and 4-pans recently after I read blogs that said they had reformulated when they released those (although I was a few years behind on trying them out). I was glad to see this palette layout because those circles of differing sizes in the last few palettes was driving me batty. I’m not a big fan of cardboard palettes though.

  • Jennifer

I’ve been burned on Clinique eyeshadows but these shades are like kryptonite to me! I need to see swatches. If they swatch well, I’m going to have to get it. Come on Clinique, don’t let me down!

  • Janice Johnson

What are the names of the colors in this palette? Is there an actual Black Honey eyeshadow in it?

    • Isabella Muse

as far as I know they aren’t named. It looks like many of the shades are black honey-like from the promo image, so you’re getting shades that look like Black Honey.

I just got the one I ordered from Sephora. It is not nearly as pink toned as the pictures show. It has a lot of cool toned browns in the top row. I haven’t swatched them yet, but I am really disappointed.

  • Michelley

I just want that one cranberry shade…. I’m so attracted to it! Off to go find a single…!

  • Jodi

I bought this palette at Sephora today! I swatched them first and the pigmentation was much better than any of their other shadows like the quads and singles. I adored every shade! Can’t wait to test it out on Monday when I go back to the office! I lay off a lot of makeup on weekends!

It’s really bad. Poor pigment and definitely fades fast. The dark colors are pretty similar too and it is bad for people with really oily eyelids. I wish one side of the brushes was more of a blendable brush.
