The Essence Autumn is Here Fall 2017 Collection is popping up at drugstores and it has a re-promoted selection of Satin Touch Blush shades available. When I passed it by at Harmon’s last week I had to do a u-turn because I realize, I never tried Essence Satin Touch Blush before.

How is that possible when I love the brand so damn much!

So, after a quick look I decided I’d purchase the very pretty Fall-ish shade Satin Love which is a light dusky rose with browner undertones. I did have fear this shade would look muddy on me but I was determined that I’d get a pretty warm glow from it.

Here’s some thoughts about this budget friendly $2.99 blush.

Yay Essence for always coming to the rescue with super fab and affordable makeup. Satin Touch Blush is 0.17 oz in size and $2.99. It comes in a fairly basic, clear compact but it’s easy to store and easy to travel with so I’m cool with the no frills packaging. What I’m not cool with is the fact it’s only available in two shades because I’d totally buy other shades if they were available.

This is a firm to the touch blush which means it is not powdery yet color is still easy to pick up with a brush. It’s not chalky nor dry due to the dense texture and has a certain silky, lightweight texture that applies seamlessly on my skin without adhering to drier areas. I was surpriseD to hear it contained mica as for the most part it applies fairly matte on my skin. The pigmentation looks sheer when picking it up with my brush but it actually has a nice pop of color once applied. It also wears for a solid seven hours without fading.

Needless to say this is a win!

Love this and love the price point. I just wish they had it available in a larger shade range but none the less I’m sticking a Muse Approval on it.

Essence Satin Touch Blush is available at select drugstores or online at ulta.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. the new palettes? Haven’t tried yet but review on the way 😀 thanks <3!

Ha! That’s what I was about to say; that cool one in back…. interesting! We cool folks got the short end of the nude palette trend a few seasons ago.

Yeah. Great formula and price. Got Satin Love, which looks to be the cooler of the two. That may be, but it’s coral-ish on me. The other one is Satin Coral. (Wtf moment.) This one looks better on you than me. As you probably know, Catrice and Essence are Cosnova, German. Their .de websites are crammed full of bazillion products, and it annoys me a tad that we see a non-teenth of what they have, stateside. Not sure, but I think that unlike Zoeva, there is no straightforward way to order from Cosnova German websites.

    • Isabella Muse

Nope, can’t order cosnova sadly unless you have a friend in Europe who can ship over for ya! 🙁

      • kjh

Thought so…I read German and saw no way. Glad you scored the copper palette. Bated breath. I like Catrice shadows, so these should be pretty good, too. Glad to know I’m not the only crazy person who would consider ordering drugstore makeup from Europe. I do order/like Zoeva. Some of the EU only might be resold on Amazon/eBay. Always want what I can’t get!

naa sad 🙁 Wish everyone could start out like sleek makeup but no go sadly. Most of beauty items I get are from Japan, Korea, the UK, and France so add Germany in there ;-D I wouldn’t mind if I could get it directly especially since they have a lot of LE items we don’t get, like the Essence Apple Cinnamon Hand Cream that launched around the Holidays a year or two ago 😀

This is one of my favorite blushes! I picked it up several months ago and went back for the other shade which is a more coral colour. I want more shades because they are gorgeous!

Blush looks pretty! I am pretty sure I have that exact grey nail polish — so maybe they rereleased it for this collection? Or it’s just part of their line that they decided to pair with the collection? Either way — I really like it and appreciate that Essence puts out little nail polishes since I never even come close to finishing a polish. One last (totally unrelated) thought — I think “rock n’ doll'” is kind of a dumb name. If you pronounce it to sound like “rock n’ roll” then it sounds like rock n dole, which makes no sense and sounds weird if you say it the other way.

    • Isabella Muse

They probably did as there are a few repromoted items in this collection. Rock n doll? I’m confused? Is that the name of the polish?

      • Dora

No — it’s on the mascaras in your photo — in the back, behind the eye palettes. Sorry to derail, it’s the kind of thing I like to think about!

        • Isabella Muse

oh sorry, I wasn’t sure what you meant for a second. I got ya 🙂 I think rock n doll probably just refers to the look, doll-like lashes type of thing 😀

These are amazing blushes! Perfect for travel because they are tiny and if they break, no big money loss. And best of all, fantastic quality.

  • Joyce

I love essence and i have this blush and love it 🙂 I just wish they would wrap their products in protective packaging because usually half of the products are already opened with finger prints all over them. Then I have to spend a long time sorting through them trying to get one that doesn’t look like it has been opened, swatched or breathed on because I’m a germ-phobe haha.

      • Joyce

YES! haha. thank you for writing that.

this why I sometimes prefer to order directly from the company online if I can get free shipping. If not, I’ll sometimes spray a drugstore product with alcohol when I get home, even if it looks ok 😀 I usually just don’t buy products without the protective seals now though.

        • Isabella Muse

ha ;-D I’m ready to commit murder when I see someone opening stuff at the drugstore. I totally like online shopping because of this too! like Lush, I won’t buy any bath bombs or bubble bars because people are holding, touching them. Or they give them to their babies and the baby is nomming on them and they don’t buy it, they put it back. Like really? Gross!

          • Joyce

haha omg gross! I know some people who think, aw they’re babies, their baby germs are purer and cleaner than normal germs…I’m like, nope. pink eye affects all equally.

          • Isabella Muse

lol! totally gross! I just can’t stand going to Lush! NOTHING IS WRAPPED! ugh! I know they have a green mentality but I’m a germ-a-phobe!

  • Danadoo

It looks really pretty on you! Is the formula similar to clinique’s pop blushes? I’d love it if it was considering I could save a lot of dollars!

  • Deborah

Wow that is pretty and so affordable! 7 hours for $2.99!? I haven’t tried essence yet. I was so excited when I got a Harmon’s in my bed bath & beyond! Mine has NO make up!! . Well, just Burt’s Bees.

    • Isabella Muse

Right? 😀 Such a great price. Aw man! That sucks! All BBBs should have a makeup section!
