About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Got 2 already. Like ’em, esp the DTLA one. It provides the ‘missing link’ of matte/crease/transition shades for the sunset palettes. I should have one of my paychecks direct deposited to Lorac.

How is your experience of using the DTLA one? I’ve only found one review of it online and it was very negative and it’s the only one I liked the colors.

Check the Ulta reviews. Don’t think I’ve used it stand alone, but in conjunction with the sunsets. Not patchy, blendable. The brown leans a tad maroon on me. The dark shade is a charcoal, that seems warm in some lights, and blue in others. It’s far softer than a stark black. The light brown leans taupe, pretty neutral on cool toned skin and warmer in daylight(? )Flat white is also cooler in night light, warmer by day, but it is a beige which looks pinkish at night on a tanned arm swatch, but otherwise can pull a little gold. It’s not white, and more complex than you first think. The blush is a cool friendly, light mulberry leaning rose. All those are matte, and the shadows are stiffer than the blush. The highlighter is the only shimmer. Prob more of a platinum, cooler than a true gold. It’s nearly midnight and I’ve been up since 5, worked 2jobs, and had a house inspection, so not sure this makes sense. Ulta has at least a few reviews up. I like it, but I’m grossly a nw15-20 and almost every foundation on the market looks straight up yellow, though do not consider myself truly cool. Colors, esp lip can pull very different on me than others. For me, this little one is very workable. Sorry I could not respond until late, if you miss the sale.

OMG kjh! That sounds like me, especially after ordering Mega Pro 4 this week. I have all of these little Lorac palettes and I’m so annoyed that they are 50% off now (although I bought them with a 20% coupon from Ulta). MUST STOP HITTING “PLACE ORDER NOW” BUTTON.

You can bloody order it? I wanna….(sound like a 3 y.o.)…but I can get it for points at Ulta, yeah, I checked. Thanks to the wait or spend post. Wait. I got kinda pissed, too, and am glad I got home too late to order, what was it, Venice beach? The funny thing about this year’s love affair with Lorac is that I had only 1 little lip, then the mega 1 and regular pro 2, then this year just exploded on Lorac. My d.r. table sometimes looks like a Lorac makeup station. And, arrrgh, matey, I live in a pirate mascot town with Jussi Sperling (b&t sh dachshund.) his name means Jack Sparrow in German, so you know what OTHER palette I had to get. Will somebody please sprain my Ulta button finger?

These are gorgeous little sets, if the bronzer and blush contained in the set happens to suit you.
