Philosophy Holiday 2017 arrived today and it brings us some new scented 3-in-1 Shower Gels like Holiday Pajamas! Thankfully, I’m not too tempted as my shower gel obsession hasn’t taken control of my life lately. I feel good about that, even proud!

Anyway, Philosophy Holiday 2017 does have a few new tricks and gift sets to look forward to. I was hoping their new latest scents, Amazing Grace Ballet and Pure Grace Nude Rose, would make an appearance in some new Holiday gift set but sadly, I’m not seeing anything along those lines. Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Philosophy has been so disappointing these last few years. Like you, I miss the onslaught of seasonal 3-in-1 shower gels they used to put out, especially during the holidays. Now it seems like the holidays are nothing but re-cycled flavors and maybe one new flavor. Don’t get me wrong – I understand bringing back holiday faves but they are seriously lacking in the new department. ‘This year’s new flavor, Holiday Pajamas, is not that good. It’s too floral for my taste. I miss the good ole days of warm apple pie , toasted marshmallow, caramel apple, Hot buttered rum, etc!

    • Isabella Muse

FLORAL!? really?! I was thinking cinnamon! Oh no! thanks for the heads up! That was going to be a blind buy for me!!!!!!!!!! I miss those days too sigh!

    • Brigette

I don’t smell anything floral, it’s more like a musk with a drop of patchouli. Very warm and suitable to be paired with vanilla fragrances.

          • Katie

Sorry, I’m being confusing! It’s kind of a mix of both. I’m not sure how to describe it! To me it’s not a warm, cozy smell I’d associate with pajamas!

          • Isabella Muse

I think because of the red color I was like oh prob smells like cinnamon! Makes more sense it is a cotton/flannel scent 😀

  • ChynnaBlue

Candy Cane a Peppermint Stick are two of my favorites. I stock up in the winter and then use them in the summer because peppermint body washes are so refreshing when you get into the shower to wash off the sweat of a hot, humid day. Last summer my water heater went out and I didn’t even bother getting it fixed for over a week because there’s no such thing as cold water in the Texas summer. Peppermint body washes and body butters/lotions are my saving grace.

I agree with Katie. I miss the cozy foodie scents like warm apple pie, pumpkin pie and I loved hot buttered rum! And the cutesy packaging was so nice. I miss it. I don’t know why they quit doing it. At Christmas they used to put the 16 oz shower gels in boxes and you were really proud to give them, and you felt like you were getting something special when you received them . Oh don’t get me started I could rant on and on…

I remember one year they came out with a Cinnamon Buns 3-1 gel and a body lotion set. It sold out; which I would think told Philosophy we want that as consumers. I would love for that to return, especially around this time of year. And I would LOVE a Candy Cane body lotion, too. Please, no more Snow Angel and Fresh Cream. I just can’t!!

        • Isabella Muse

I remember that because I had it ;-D And yes, more Candy Cane everything! I love it! I actually pour it into my snow fairy from Lush to make a fruity, minty shower gel 😀

  • Pdo

After Christmas Clearance shopping maybe, lol. Here’s to hoping there are some good ones left.

  • Carolina

I wish I could get more excited about this year’s Philosophy holiday offerings. The time period from Autumn to New Year’s used to be so much fun. What happened? What has Coty/Philosophy done to this delightful time of the year?

I still miss Pumpkin Spice Muffin, it was my favorite scent. The Candy Apple 3-in-1 was great too! I saw on QVC the other day that Philosophy will also be releasing a Pink Chocolate Macaroon scent for Christmas 2017. Oh well, I still have the memories!

  • Lauren

I still wish I could find Cherry Berry Crisp in a store somewhere. I think it was a Sephora exclusive scent around Christmas several years ago. I haven’t smelled anything similar to it since, and I occasionally hunt it down on eBay and buy a set of the gel and lotion. It’s usually $30ish for a set of 8 oz bottles, though, and since I only really use the gel, I hoard it and use it as sparingly as possible, lol.

          • Lauren

I treat myself every so often by getting a set of the lotion and gel from there! It’s just a little pricey because it comes in a set of 8 oz bottles, and I don’t really use the lotion that much. Makes it expensive to buy, since it usually costs around $30 or so.

          • Isabella Muse

ugh! Hopefully they just bring it back on QVC or something 😀

  • Ashley

I totally miss their seasonal offerings as well! I got into the brand only a few years ago (and fell in love with Cherry Christmas) but it has slowly gone downhill since. One year Nordstrom had a ton of the holiday scents as 8oz minis with cute bags/packaging and they made the perfect gift for people, but alas…

    • Isabella Muse

try qvc they sometimes get better gift sets 🙂 but I know what you mean about the gift sets and releases going downhill though 🙁 sad sigh!
