Catrice Liquid Gel Cushion Eyeliner Affordable, Amazing, and Awesome

One of the best products I’ve run across this Fall is the Catrice Liquid Gel Cushion Eyeliner. Cushion eyeliners are not necessarily a new innovation. Etude House released a limited edition Cushion Lock ‘n Liner three years ago that was an absolutely fail. Have no fear though a few years down the line and Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Cushion Eyeliner + Serum got the formula down right!

And of course, we’ve had a few other options from Sephora and Stila but none have been as amazing as Catrice’s Liquid Gel Cushion Eyeliner. If you’re a fan of liquid eyeliner, believe me you need this.

Catrice houses this liner in a 0.1 oz jar that will set you back $6.99. It’s available in a single dark, pigmented black but I have hopes in the future they might release more shades. As per the name it is indeed a cushion. Inside the jar you’ll find a cushion saturated with a liquid-gel eyeliner which you can gently press a brush into for application. Note, I said gently. DON’T PRESS TOO HARD! Why? Because this stuff is crazy pigmented. I mean blacker than black! I mean Urban Decay Perversion multiplied by 10. It is super pigmented.

I expected the formula to be slightly watery but has the texture of a traditional liquid eyeliner. It’s thick, glossy, and it applies exactly like a liquid eyeliner the only different would be it’s in a pot and you’re dipping an eyeliner brush into it. For some reason I feel like I have a lot more control when I’m applying gel eyeliner and this gives me the option of using a liquid formula in a pot. Liquid is a lot more intense than gel eyeliner and this gives some very dramatic results.

I suck at liquid eyeliner application and I still haven’t mastered the “flick” but as I said I feel like I have so much more control using a liquid formula out of a pot. I can use a brush of my choosing be it thick or thin. I don’t feel as shaky with a brush and I’m a lot less clumsy. Plus this formula glides onto my lash line without skipping or tugging. It’s just a pure masterpiece of a formula. I found the formula wore well on me without smudging or flaking throughout the entire day and it removed easily at the end of the night.

Catrice Liquid Gel Cushion Eyeliner is proof positive that there are budget-friendly formulas with high quality formulas. This is one you should try if you like liquid eyeliners. It’ll give you a new and unique way to apply a liquid liner with an intensely pigmented finish that gives eyes a pop of drama.

LOVE it.

Can’t rave this enough.

Muse Approved.

This sounds amazing. Blacker than Perversion? Bring it on! Perfect for my hard rock/heavy metal concerts. But the question is…is it waterproof/ water resistant or at least smudge proof? I attend a lot of all day festivals and always use Perversion because it lasts all day long.

I discussed in the review 🙂 had no issues with smudging issues, flaking, etc…I wore it in NOLA heat so yeah, that worked ;-D

I don’t know if it is available in the US, but the Essence Cushion Eyeliner is the exact same thing (identical ingredients list) and it’s even cheaper!

awesome!!!!!!! I don’t think I’ve seen that one in the US yet but hopefully soon!?

Def worth a try, though wish there were more colors. Bet there are on Catrice.de. Have to score some new Zoeva liner brushes, just to keep it all German. I could use some practice as well. Esp w/Black. It’s like clothes. Black has to be neat. Other colors, not so much.

This is slightly off topic, but it looks like caviar in a pot! LOL! It’s lunch time, I haven’t eaten yet…but wait, I don’t even like caviar!

I prefer liquid liner over gels, but if this is similar to a liquid formula, I think I might like it. I hope they have Catrice in store at my local shops!

lol! 😀 I like your, “I don’t even like caviar but I’m hungry…” lol! ;-D I guess we’ll eat a horse if it is around and we’re hungry ;-D or caviar ;D It’s online only boooo!

oooh I’m going to have to order this next time I get something from Ulta

  • Danadoo

As a certified eyeliner junkie, I am wanting this big time! Is Catrice sold anywhere besides ulta?

  • Randi MacDonald

So funny, I just placed an Ulta order. I ordered some other Catrice items and they gave me this as a gift. I usually wear brown liquid eyeliner( PF eyebooster is my fave). My Ulta has such a small Catrice display in store. I looked at a few items and none of them were made in China.

The pigment sounds good, but how is the wear? Is it still on your face 8 hours later?

    • Isabella Muse

I spoke about the wear in the post 🙂 no smudging, no flaking, wore solid until I took it off 🙂

I have actually been looking at this EXACT liner to try out. Eyeliner has been that one thing that I have struggled with, pencil eyeliners are not the business for me so I figured a liner like this would be better for me. Thank you for the helpful review!!

Thank you for the review. These look like ink pads and because I’m clumsy I am thinking about buying a silicone eyeliner wing stamp. Have you had any tips for those?
