Ridiculous Or Not: Too Faced Better Than Sex Heels!?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Heels are a $225 pair of pink, sparkly stilettos inspired by Better Than Sex Mascara that launched on the brand’s site recently. No, this isn’t a joke, it’s a real thing. Too Faced is literally selling stilettos on their site next to Chocolate Bar Palettes and their Holiday 2017 Collection.

Eh?

Earlier in the month, there was some sort of press event where the heels were displayed throughout the event but honestly, it never crossed my mind at some point they’d be for sale. I assumed they were decorations or even press swag but not something someone would knowingly purchase. Sure, there are hardcore fan girls and guys out there that might just want a pair of these. I find myself not wanting to knock the idea since I, myself, am a huge fan girl and I collect some very unusual items. Hell, I purchased a Mattel Castle Grayskull off E-bay for a small fortune and displayed it on a shelf in my study. Who am I to knock a pair of sparkle high heels right?

But I am entitled to my opinion which you know I’m never shy about sharing. So yeah, they are a little bit ridiculous. Bu on the other hand they are kind of cute with the fluttery little lashes on the back of each heel but…..well, it is a makeup company. Do we really need these sort of high-end accessories from our favorite brands?

Is it going too far?

Or would you totally buy these?

Do share!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Stupid, ridiculous, and all other similar adjectives. As if I needed another reason to despise — yes, despise — the direction TF has taken. The company is officially dead to me now.

  • blee

Oh, yes I would buy them! But there should be a red bottom on them too. Me likes them very much LOL 😀

  • Cindy

I wouldn’t buy these even if my feet weren’t crippled! LOL! MAKE IT STOP!

    • Isabella Muse

ha lol! It’s just all too crazy with TF sometimes! now they have a god damn unicorn makeup collection! Slit my wrists please!

  • momo

I don’t mind a brand doing a goofball tie in like this but have you SEEN these clear plastic 4 inch stilettos covered in the cheap glitter from the craft store? I’m not offended by the brand tie in but I am offended by the shoes themselves because that is some Payless clearance rack business right there for real.

  • Christina

Ridiculous! I suppose it does channel a bit of Charlotte Olympia, but if I want shoes, I’m going to buy them from a line that makes shoes, not makeup. And I wear a lot of heels; if those pictures are accurate, these are going to be horribly uncomfortable because of the pitch of the shoes. LOL!

  • Annie

These shoes look like stuff you’d find at Liza Minnelli’s garage sale… which is completely consistent with Too Faced’s over-the-top girly branding.

  • ChynnaBlue

Nope. Are those supposed to be eyelashes on the heels? Those just look tacky. I rarely spend more than $100 on shoes, so if you want $225, your shoes had better not be tacky AF.

  • kjh

I can’t wear ho shoes, but I have some old tacky sparkle to wear with them. They’d hurt. I’d fall and stab myself, break an ankle. The blisters would get infected. They don’t go with American Giant sweats. So, no. Am I really surprised? Not really. Wasn’t it PT Barnum who said, ‘There’s a sucker born every minute?’ Jerrod’s partner will look dear! As long as he doesn’t make minis for Clover and make her wear them, wtf? These are surreal. I DO have fur lined Ugg flip flops, which I found pretty surreal, too.

I like it. It’s neat to see makeup companies branch out into other products. I would buy and wear them if I didn’t have adult size 4 feet. Smart that it’s a sparkly pump to match holiday party dresses… Though clear plastic gets sweaty fast.

I don’t like these heels but I would be interested in a great t-shirt, water bottle, pjs etc from Tarte or Too Faced. If they make cute makeup bags, why not make additional items? Especially if it matches the artwork of a particular palette or line.

I guess on a positive note , I can give Too Faced for releasing something new, but them delving Into shoes is weird !!! Honestly, I wish I was a fly on the wall during the meeting at too faced headquarters was going on, when someone brought this idea up !!! Honestly what the heck were they thinking ?? Lol

    • Isabella Muse

LOL I wish I was too! It’s like, WTF were they thinking!? I’d love to be in on that meeting! “LET’S DO HEELS!” YASSSSS!

  • Kish

I’m so tired of Too Faced pushing that awful mascara and all of the sex intonations. If that’s better than the sex you’re having, you need an upgrade. These are ridiculously tacky and I’m over this brand. I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

  • Maritza

$225? That’s way to much for a make up company with no previous experience in fashion clothing.

  • Crystal

So cute! I actually love these. If I could actually wear stilettos, I’d so get these. Unfortunately, I can barely walk in wedges or mid heels. 🙁
And I actually like the lashes on the heels. They remind me of the Sophia Webster Butterfly wings stilettos.

    • Isabella Muse

ha me and you both! I have so many heels and I RARELY wear any of them!

  • Jennifer

Ok, I’m in the minority here, but I think they are cute shoes. I would never wear them, as I’m sure the plastic would kill the top of my foot. But, if the design was tweaked, I would buy them. I buy Louboutins, why not these? $200.00 for a pair of shoes is not that much. And they re glitter. Yes!

  • Jen

Ok but… couldn’t they at least make the shoes the same color scheme as the mascara tube? I look at them and the last thing I think of is too faced mascara. Mascara and shoes are just… not related. And holy wonder bread, did you see the lengthy new commercial for better than sex mascara on YouTube? It’s been an ad popping up before a lot of Beauty guru videos. It’s almost painful to watch. They better change image directly quick because this new one they are trying just screams cheese.

    • Isabella Muse

true! I didn’t think of that but the pink would have made for a nicer shone color! no? gotta go google that…!

  • Mia

The sparkle gets me, the lash detail doesn’t. Wish they’d focus on the quality of their makeup instead of gimmicks like this that will, I’m guessing, only really appeal to the beauty influencer crowd.

  • genevieve

Ridiculous – besides, how far could you honestly walk in those heels? If you fall out of them you could break your ankle (as a girlfriend’s daughter did in stilettos – very painful, embarrassing and expensive).

  • Neetzy

I thought these shoes were just press swag until I read your post. Hmmm, it’s odd to just have a random pair of shoes for sale on a makeup website, but I suppose people who truly love Too Faced will buy them. What next, stilettos at Sephora? Lol.

  • kel h.

i think its a neat idea but for a brand that has no history in the shoe department they are being a bit smug with a $200+ price tag and nothing to back up the quality. plus the plastic sides and uneven eyelashes placed on the back heel make this look incredibly cheap.
