About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Got the palette and a few outliers from Besame, on the second go-round. The shadows are pretty powdery, with a fair amount of kick up. They are reminiscent of Lorac in that factor only. Drier, i’d say. All the colors are very, very muted. Apply and blend easily, and fairly aging friendly. Mufe and BM Ready are far better on that… Everyone should be aware that this is a historically accurate issue, so does not resemble the current rages at all. The packaging on the whole issue is TDF. The ? bigger bag is very well made, designed, a collectible. Lipsticks, of course, are superlative. As usual, your price drop notifications are the most timely!

I’m actually happy to hear they are soft and muted! I can do that! My eyes are super dry lately and drier, matte shades work best for me. They applied smoother and look better than shimmers/sparkles! ;-D Thanks for the mini review!

I’m lucky enough to work a 10 min drive from the Besame store in Burbank, CA. I hopped in there last week to look at this collection, and it is beautiful. Didn’t pick up the eyeshadow palette as the colors weren’t quite my speed, but it’s very cool how all the colors in the collection are matches for the color palette used in the film. I think the collab is very well done. I picked up the lipstick kit , full size lipstick in Make a Wish , and the compact powder. I’m pleased with the products themselves, but I was slightly disappointed that the powder compact is plastic and not metal.

oh no it is?! I didn’t get it and was thinking of getting it at Sephora! Sad that it is plastic but still it is very cute! Thanks for the mini review chibi!

The compact IS still super pretty, especially with the design on the mirror and you do get a usable puff. The printed design on the outside doesn’t feel like it’s in danger of scratching or rubbing off. Because of the plastic, it does suffer from fingerprint marks though. I think Besame really missed a selling point opportunity not making it metal. I have the same gripe with their brushes. The brush heads are soft and great, but the handles should be metal (at least aluminum) not light plastic. It’s disorienting in a way to pick up something that looks so luxe and have it be so light. They used to have this gorgeous small metal powder compact for their pressed powder refills. :: sigh:: On the other hand, if you’re lemming the hand mirror, THAT is weighty. I didn’t get one but I did use it when I was in the store. You could use that thing as a weapon. Also, the large makeup organizer bag is beautiful.

It still sounds cute the way you describe it. I’m going to order it ;-D I remember the small metal powder compacts! That was way back! I wish they’d bring back their full-size fragrances! The hand mirror is gorgeous but def don’t need! I collect Victorian vanity sets and have one too many hand mirrors ;-D I need another head for them all!
