Colourpop Double Entendre Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Colourpop Double Entendre Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ($16) is a new 12-pan eyeshadow palette that launched a few short weeks ago on the brand’s website. I keep asking myself how many Colourpop Eyeshadow Palettes I need but the answer is always the same, ALL OF THEM! Seriously though, why not? At $16 (I paid less as there were so many Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sales) for 12 shades how can you pass it up right?

If they keep doing these, I have a feeling I’ll keep buying them and even though I prefer their normal creamy eyeshadow I’m not minding the pressed shadow ones a single bit as they have a great texture and thus far I’ve only been disappointed in the Take Me Home Eyeshadow Palette.
Let’s take a look at the Double Entendre Eyeshadow Palette.

No matter how many nude, natural, neutral shades I own I always, always end up with more of the same. That’s exactly what Colourpop Double Entendre Eyeshadow Palette brings to the table and I’m just fine with that. This palette contains a gorgeous selection of warm, neutral shades that are dominated with a silky, matte finish and a few metallics, shimmers, and satins thrown in as well!

The mattes are powder but super silky, easy to apply, and they have a smooth finish on my drier eyes. The metallics have some fall out as they run a bit chunkier but still apply very nicely without looking frosty and the pigmentation is outstanding and pairs up well with some of the silkier mattes to create a contrast in finishes. I didn’t find a single dud in this palette as all the shades applied well with a smooth texture and excellent pigment! Even some of the lighter base shades like Locked and Loaded had excellent color pay off.

If you haven’t experienced Colourpop’s Pressed Eyeshadow Range now is a good time to check them out as this palette brings a nice round up of everyday shades you’ll reach for daily. I was very happy with this palette and I’m glad I purchased it!

It’s on sale now for around $12 dollars on their site and worth picking up if you don’t already own it.

Colourpop Double Entendre Eyeshadow Palette proves that affordable palettes can have excellent formulated eyeshadows without breaking the bank.

Yeah, me too…have to have ’em all. I read somewhere that it’s called the Pokemon effect.

Actually, the only one I don’t have is the Golden State of Mind because it’s all light, shimmery shadows. But that could change at any time since eye shadow palettes seem to be an item about which I have OCD.

Oh yes lol! I call it the pokemon disease ;D welcome to the club! I’m a founding member haha!

Some days, just not sure why I respect your reviews so much, as our tastes are so diametrically opposite, but this is fab for those of us who need more warm neutrals. (Scent is included in the way different taste spectrum…). That doesn’t happen to include me. But I am subject to Pokémon effect on Zoeva, Nars Audacious, VLGs, Powermatte, and a few others. Double Entendre looks beautiful and certainly is the right price, if warm neutrals are your thing. I fall for ~50% of CP palettes, f’sure.

So glad I’m not the only one who needs all of the Colourpop palettes! Just ordered this one a couple of days ago so I’m happy you liked it!! This is the one that I finally thought I wouldn’t buy where it’s so neutral…but lone behold I still needed it in my life hahaha.

    Slightly off topic but…

Like kjh, I initially experienced the Pokemon effect with Zoeva, but thankfully, that has passed. Their shadows are nice but not nice enough to keep obsessing about having all of the palettes (that, and international shipping costs). In fact, I’ve gotten rid of quite a few of their palettes and kept only the larger palettes in the Spectrum series.

Can you compare this palette to the Colourpop Nude mood? I have fair neutral skin and auburn hair. I want a neutral warm palette that’s not too orange-y. Like the California Love palette is a no no.
