REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic Launches Hopefully With No Stinky Glow Tonic Scent

Pixi is busy concocting new tonics for our skin this Spring but without a doubt the one area they really need to concentrate on is on Glow Tonic’s fragrance. I use Glow Tonic, I love Glow Tonic, but man it smells like my grandmother’s grandmother. As someone who really enjoys vintage, mature fragrances like Lush Ginger and Marilyn Miglin’s fragrance I simply cannot tolerate Glow Tonic’s fragrance. It’s just awful.

When I came across REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic ($35) I thought how much it looked like Glow Tonic and instantly though, “PLEASE DON’T LET IT SMELL AS BAD!”

This is a daily toner that acts to exfoliate skin gently with lactic acid and willow bark extract. It’ll not only smooth skin but also brightens up your complexion and evens it out. There claim to fame is that it contains a balanced pH of 3.5 to 4 which is necessary to trigger your skin’s natural exfoliation process.

Glow Tonic is $29 and 8.5 oz in size where as this is the same size for $6 extra. If the formula proves just as good minus the horrible fragrance I’d totally be willing to switch things up.

REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic is available now at sephora.com.

Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Sodium Lactate, Lactic Acid, Heptyl Glucoside, Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate, Triethyl Citrate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Benzoic Acid, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) Peel Oil, Heptanol, Parfum* (Fragrance), Limonene.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. Ooh, Pheromone and Destiny? The originals? To quote the banal vloggers, YAASSS! White florals seem easy to do, but hard to hit me right. (And to be real, I cannot lose the connection to the death of Marilyn’s husband, Lee, by the SK Andrew Cunanan.) I praise Marilyn for just being able to get up in the morning. What a strong woman.

ABSOLUTELY Pheromone Musk! It’s my fav! Sadly, after she changes the formula it doesn’t last as long on me! Destiny def love too! I love contrast of white musk and smokiness of Pheromone Musk. It reminds me of Marilyn Monroe and old hollywood! Indeed, I agree, his death was tragic to say the least!!!!!

So ON you are about these. She has exquisite taste in old style scent. For me in a dress, which is bloody rare, it’s usually one of those, the OG ones, or L’Heure Bleue or Mitsouko. Maybe I like that the concepts are older than I am! With the usual grubbies, it’s unisex or men’s. I guess if I have on more than 1/2 men’s clothing, it channels me that way. Never thought of it before. MM and OG Guerlain are like ‘the good silver,’ only for special occasions.

Not many people my age like her fragrances but I adore them! She really does have a knack for old vintage fragrance that smells like you spent $500 on a bottle!

Glow Tonic does have a weird scent. And something about it makes me break out. I have no clue what it is. Have you tried The Ordinary glycolic toner? I’ve been using it for two weeks and I absolutely love it. I don’t know if it’s the combination of ingredients or what, but it really seems to work for me. I’m actually loving all of the stuff I bought from them so far. Which means my Sephora Rouge status will be impossible to maintain with their prices. haha, but well worth it!

I haven’t! I’ve been meaning to wade into the Ordinary but haven’t done so yet!
