I should be excited about the new Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer ($28) which is a new full coverage concealer that apparently will hide pesky undereye circles for up to 12 hours with a natural, soft focused effect. And most important it also promises to deliver all-day hydration!
But I’m not excited. I’m actually proceeding with the utmost caution. I remember 2014 when Laura Mercier High Coverage Concealer For Under Eye was released and I felt positive it would turn into my absolute holy grail. Fast forward five minutes into using it and my horrifying reaction to how hard the texture was and how dry it was not to mention how much tugging was involved to get it under my eyes.
In life we learn from our mistakes and in most cases we know not to repeat them but brands, well brands can make the same mistakes over and over and over again without really learning anything at all from the original mistake. I have high hopes that Laura Mercier took into consideration what was wrong with High Coverage Concealer for Under Eye and did better with Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer.
I have to say that the flat, fuller sponge applicator intrigues me. If you’re a makeup lover you know that a good applicator can make or break a formula. I’ve run across lipglosses and concealers that have really good formulas but apply like absolute crap because the applicator is all wrong. We’ll see if Laura’s applicator makes or breaks this formula.
I will without a doubt try it out for myself because I can’t resist concealer. But I’ll most definately proceed with caution.
