NYX Powder Puff Lippie is a new powder lip cream that launched in eight shades for Spring 2018. I realize I ranted in my last post that NYX tends to do a lot of different lip products but many of them feel like repackaged items with new names. They must have at least ten different long-wearing matte liquid lipsticks that are identical formulas but just with different names. It does induce mental eye rolls from me.

When I saw the new Powder Puff Lippie it felt new enough to warrant a purchase. You might recall a few brands have cushion lip products which was quite popular in Korea a few years ago. I’ve reviewed a few already like Sephora Wonderful Cushion Matte Lip Cream and Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Soft Matte Lip Cream both of which I really liked but I have to admit my favorite by far is NYX’s version. You already know I’m not a fan of matte lip products but they did a superb job with this formula. It’s so comfortable to wear and has a second skin-like finish that’s super smooth.

Let’s take a look!

NYX Powder Puff Lippie is pretty small for the price weighting in at 0.4 oz and around $7.49-$8.49 depending where you purchase it. It comes in a squeeze tube that has a fuzzy round cushion for application. Just squeeze the tube and the lipstick flows easily into the cushion for application. I found the cushion easy to use and just the right size to fit the contour of my lips.

NYX Powder Puff Lippie Swatches (Squad Goals)

The application was so smooth. I’m prone to dry lips especially around this time of the year and typically they are quite flaky and cracked. This has a matte staining effect but it never adhered to the drier areas of my lips nor did it fall into my natural lip lines. It’s quite creamy but not terribly thick and it applies smoothly and flawlessly with an airbrushed finish. It actually sheers into a thinner layer and sets against lips like a stain but never feels heavy or drying. I didn’t have issues with the color transferring yet it would still removed easily with a brisk tissue rub. It wore for me a solid five hours and didn’t crack or dry out in that time. I detected no flavor or fragrance for sensitive users.

I can’t express how much I loved this formula. It applies easily, it looks wonderful on my lips, and it wears comfortably.

Do check it out.

I really loved this formula too but I had some sort of allergic reaction to it. Unfortunately I had to return it, as well as the Lime Crime Plushies since I had the same reaction to those. I’m hoping it was a weird, one-time thing for each but I’m not going to risk trying them again. Makes me so sad because the finish is beautiful!

Hmmm. I’m really curious about this now. I swatched it in Ulta and the formula seemed so cool and fun, but I was worried it might be drying or not last. I may have to pick up one and try it. Squad Goals was the color that appealed to me most, but one of the reds was gorgeous, too.

Looks pretty Muse. I have very similar one from Sephora brand last year with same applicator. Also Muse. Just wanted to know what you use for chapped and cracked lips. Mine are bad this winter. Thanks

thanks! ;-D Yea I do too! I FEEL your bad! Hourglass N 28 Lip Treatment Oil is my go to! Expensive as hell but worth every penny. Also, really liking Milani’s lip conditioner and burt’s bees (way cheaper)!
