Urban Decay Backtalk Eye & Face Palette Looks Pretty Good

Urban Decay Backtalk Eye & Face Palette has been the rounds on the Internet lately and everything is quite excited about it including me. Imagine that every lipstick shade you ever loved was created into an eyeshadow palette? That’s actually the idea behind Urban Decay Backtalk Eye & Face Palette! It was inspired by one of Urban Decay’s bestselling Vice Lipstick shades, Backtalk, which is a mauve-y nude pink.

People, I can think of any number of lipsticks I adore that I think should be made into an eyeshadow palette starting with the .99 cent Wet n Wild Cherry Frost shade. Seriously, I’d buy an eyeshadow palette inspired by the shade. All red and glamorous! My makeup world lacks too few red eyeshadow shades.

Anyway, that’s where Backtalk Eye & Face Palette takes us! Into the realms of a palette created and inspired by a rosy nude mauve. This 2-in-1 palette features eight eyeshadows and four coordinating shades of blush and highlighter in soft berries, dusky roses, and mauve nudes.

Shades:

  • Eyeshadows: 3 Sheets (pale pink-nude matte), Bare (light pinky-peach satin), Curve (metallic rose shimmer with silver micro-glitter), Backtalk (soft rosy mauve matte), Shade (deep fuchsia satin), Attitude (metallic red-copper), WTF (reddish brown matte), 180 (metallic brown-red)
  • Blush/Hightlighter in Cheap Shot (medium pink-nude), Double Take (rich mauve with slight shimmer), Low Key (pink-peach), Party Foul (light pink-nude shimmer)

I dunno if it’s the colorful palette of your dreams for Summer looks but I’m all about the pretty berries and roses for Spring looks.

Urban Decay Backtalk Eye & Face Palette is $46 and available now at Sephora.com.

Will you be hauling it?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Looks nice if you don’t own the Naked 3 palette. I own the Dose of Colors Marvelous Mauves so that is enough rosy shades for me.

Cannot wait to add this lovely to my collection. I’ve been stalking Sephora and UD since I first heard about it. Yes, I know there is an official release date but sometimes these things are released earlier to Rouge members or UD junkies. Fingers-crossed!

  • Carol

Yes, this is the one I’m waiting for. I’m assuming it’ll be at Ulta as well?

  • Maria

I really like this palette and want to buy it. Love the colors. However, I checked Sephora website and it states total net weight as 0.38 ounces. I find this hard to believe for all the blushes and shadows. Maybe the eye shades are .38 ounces. What do you think or know about this. Thanks.

  • K8

Sooo tempted by this since my Naked 3 recently bit the dust! Please review once it’s out and then I’ll decide for sure

  • L

Wow this is so pretty! I think I will wait for the 20% off Sephora in April and pick this up then!

  • Adrienne

I have been anxiously awaiting this release. I have reward points at Ultra that expire mid March so I hope it releases soon. I will keep checking your blog as usual in case you get some swatches up before then.

  • Janessa

I am sooo excited for this! I really want to jump on it, but I’m going to try to hold out for a 20% off coupon. The colors are right up my alley. This isn’t supposed to be LE, is it??

  • SDinIL

I can’t get enough mauves and pinks for eye shadow. They make my green eyes pop. I will be purchasing this as soon as it hits either at Sephora or UD.com

  • ruth

I’m on a low buy/no buy, just replacing the basics as I run out of them because I have plenty of stuff. but this beauty steals my heart, takes my breath away-it’s so pretty! i’m going to get it and call it “my precious”

  • Sarah

I’m actually really excited about this. I can’t wait to get my hands on this. It’s been awhile since I’ve been so excited about a palette. Yay.

  • Susan

I love this, and hope Ulta gets it so I can use my points. Also hope this sells really well so it will encourage companies to do something besides all warm neutrals with orange, rust, red, and black!

  • Sleepybird

If it eventually comes to ULTA I will definitely get it as I have points I am sitting on. If it stays exclusive to Sephora I will have to love from afar.

  • Stephanie

I own the Urban Decay Backtalk lipstick and I love that they created a palette inspired by it. It’s one of my favorite lipsticks. I have a lot of eyeshadow already, but the shades here are really lovely. I’ll try to be patient until I can use a coupon on it so I don’t feel too guilty about buying it lol.

  • Bonnie

I’m waiting to see what will come out that’s totally a cool palette without those browns stuck in there. I’m browned out.

  • Jane

After a cool period in her career, Joan Crawford made a comeback and is rumored to have said to the exec, in slightly bluer language, “no more goshdang shop girls.”

That is how I am feeling with this, pretty though the shade Backtalk is, “no more goshdang palettes.” Especially warm ones.

  • Paige

Someone tell me why I find this so compelling. Do I need it? Lordy, no. Do I have shades just like it spread out all over my collection? You betcha. And dark brown! I need another palette with dark brown like I need another palette with yet one more black shade I will never use up if I lived to be 100 and went on a permanent no buy for the rest of my days.

(I’m looking at you, KVD. Enough with the blacks. We all have them.)

So what is it? My guess is I like the compact packaging and the pretty factor. Also I’m a sucker for UD blushes and highlights in any kind of quad.

Ugh! I can be strong, but oh my, this is testing me. If I did buy it I know I’d feel the makeup equivalent of eating an entire sleeve of Thin Mints, so I will harden my resolve.

But if it shows up on sale…maybe half a sleeve.

  • Crystal Colvin

I reeeaally hope that UD releases this tomorrow (3/2/18) as that is the last day of their UD Fanatics sale and I would buy this in a heartbeat with the 20% discount. As it is, I already really want to get it, but I’m on a probationary hold from buying makeup (unless I have giftcards or points). But if they drop this tomorrow and I can get 20% off……FAIR. GAME. lol

  • Michelle

Muse, do you know My Pretty Zombie? She’s going to have your red makeups <3

  • Carol

Just saw a Tweet from Urban Decay themselves: this will not be at Ulta. Only Sephora and UD. Dang! I have $60 in rewards at Ulta so of course this isn’t going to be there. Guess I’ll get if from UD because at least they offer free shipping if you’re a junkie which I am.

  • Emily

I really like it, I’ve had it about 2 weeks, my sephora had it out early.

I see maybe 2 shades kinda similar to Nake 3 but nothing too bad to justify purchase of it if you like the shades. I really love the blushes.
