Violet Voss The Rainbow Eyeshadow Palette for Colorful Spring Eye Looks

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

The new Violet Voss The Rainbow Eyeshadow Palette for Spring 2018 launched today and includes ten colorful rainbow hued shades in a variety of finishes. Would you believe I still haven’t tried the Violet Voss Eyeshadow Palette I hauled back in November?! I need to get on that!

But anyway…

I know a lot of you are pretty much bored with the constant nudes lately and in this case your prays for a colorful eyeshadow palette might just be answered as this includes some beautiful pops of shades:

Colors include:

  • Flamingo (rich pinky red)
  • Peach (dual chrome rusty peach)
  • Buttercup (rich golden gold)
  • Seaform (seafoam green)
  • Figi (exotic aqua)
  • Royal (rich deep blue)
  • Indigo (true purple)
  • Violet (duo-chrome pink pearl)
  • Pearl (sheer iridescent white)
  • Eclipse (black with glitter)

So, it’s not for me sadly. I’m not much of a rainbow eyeshadow girl! It’s so weird because when I started Musings of a Muse I was NOT a nude person. I actually hated nude or brown eyeshadows. Fast forward several years and it’s about all I wear lately. I guess I got boring somewhere along the line. It’s a shame because I really love aqua, blue, green, pink but I always migrate back towards the 1000+ brown eyeshadows I have.

makeup dupes meme hey girl

I need to get back into color again.

How about you?

Loving the Violet Voss The Rainbow Eyeshadow Palette?

Or are you sticking with your tried and true nudes?

Violet Voss The Rainbow Eyeshadow Palette is $30 and available now at sephora.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

I ordered this as soon as it appeared on Sephora’s site this morning. Like you, I really do love color (no, really I do) but I tend to gravitate to muted shades of taupe, plum, mauve, etc. But I have been coming up with ways of working color in on the lid or under the lower lash line.

Plus, I just want the darn thing, dammit! 😉

Between this and the Nars palette, at least we’re seeing some color. Thank god. Never really went warm nude, but taupes and grays, yeah. Fave old mufe palette is prob #4, also like the first CP powder palette, with Harley and that deep blue teal. Tend to like menswear rather than girly colors in clothes. So, guess I think this is too bright for my age. Drab it down some, and i’d be all over it. Colors, but muted. Throw in a pop, but too much makes me think people are saying ‘act your age.’ Which is advanced! Iris Apfel I can’t do.

Yaaaasss they did it in ROYGBIV order and everything! I’m impressed. 😉

I just bought this the other day purely for Fiji. Holy lord that blue! Swoon… Reminds me of UD electric liner, which I still have like 2 of and will be buried with them.
I am all about the brights/rainbows though I rarely wear makeup these days. I was never into the super crazy rainbow/showy/flashy/nightwear looks either, I’ve always kept it super minimal/toned down, so I am only going to be wearing these as liners/accent colors. They look exactly like the pan color when you foil them! Well, except for the white, you get the gold from that one when you foil. But uuuunnnnnffffff the blue….

Update: The colors only look true to pan for me if I foil them. Otherwise, they are really sheer. And while foiling, there is little chunks falling everywhere or sticking to the outside of the liner shape I am trying to make. I’m a bit disappointed. All online swatches look true to pan but IRL if you apply them with a brush the colors are sooooo sheer compared to pan, and you can’t really pack it on, or at least I haven’t been able to so far. I’ll try again. I hate sponge applicators (they’re essentially only good for one color each, so it’s not like you can make do with just one or 2 in your collection, and that sort of goes against the whole zero waste/reduce-reuse-repurpose life I am *trying* to live haha, AND they make such a mess in storage, dispersing fallout all over your other stuff and I am completely and deeply fanatical about keeping all my makeup absolutely pristine) but I think I’ll go to Sally’s today and pick up a set and see if they show up better with sponge.
I see a few girls on influenster also find this sheerer than pan, glad it’s not just me having super high standards.
