All the Makeup Things Are Available Today Here’s What To Get

Holy cow the motherload of makeup releases launched today! There’s so many things available my head is swimming. How do I decide what to get and what to leave is the question.

Here’s my thoughts on what you should haul today and what you can possibly wait on.

Urban Decay Backtalk Eye & Face Palette ($46) is one I just purchased it. The rosy, berry shades might not be for everyone but I think UD hopes that’ll be universally flattering on all skin. Why do I like it? Because we’ve had plenty of nude, natural palettes released as of late and it is a refreshing change to see some interesting dusky rose shades. It’s still a nude look they are going for here but it’s also a refreshing change from the standard, traditional browns, bronzes, and gold nudes we’ve seen. A lot of people are comparing this one to Naked 3 but I’m not so sure it is a complete deep. The colors look richer not to mention it includes some very flattering shades of blush or at least the promo image lead me to believe they are. This one is on the haul today list.

Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Eyeshadow Palette also appears on the haul today list simply because the price tag is just too sweet a deal to pass up on! It’s $25 bucks which is pretty unheard of for the brand and it contains five Summer-y nudes. Yes, it does have a lot of shades you might already own but Natasha’s formula being what it is you might just wish to indulge and experience what all the hype is about.

NARSissist Wanted Cheek Palette Vol I and NARSissist Wanted Cheek Palette Vol II launched today and these are both on the top of my list as immediate hauls. Contrary to what the weather in New York is telling me Spring is very much around the color and glowing cheeks seems like a good idea to me. Each of these holds six blushes each which should appease anyone with a blush addiction. Personally, I’m of the firm belief that NARS excels in the blush formula department so, hopefully these palettes are a hit for me! I look forward to getting my order.

Tarte Be A Mermaid & Make Waves Eyeshadow Palette launched a day or two ago at Sephora.com so it isn’t today’s launch but none the less still a very new release. I reviewed it pretty favorably yesterday as I thought the shadow formula was quite lovely however, the shades didn’t evoke the ocean or mermaids in me. It is limited edition which might have you on edge to grab it up but so was the Make Believe In Yourself Palette and that went on sale within several weeks of the launch so I do question if you should be hauling this one now. In my opinion, it’s a wait! Haul it later and who knows waiting might even score you a deal!

Natasha Denona Tropic Eyeshadow Palette is a stunning selection of tropical shades that reminds me of a fruit smoothie. At $129 the palette doesn’t come cheap and I had a moment late last night where it was in my cart but after a little talking down I realized I might struggle with some of the softer pastel shades. I decided after a little while I’d wait on this launch. Although, LE I imagine it’ll be around a few months and I can decide as we head deeper into the Summer whether or not I need it. If you’re struggling too, try to ask yourself if you can pull off the pastels. If you feel they might look chalky on you that might be you deciding factor if you do or don’t need this one.

Benefit Blush Bar Cheek Palette is a bit of a harder one to decide on. This contains five full-size Benefit Box O’ Powders and what makes it most tempting is the addition of the not yet released Gold Rush shade. I already have all of these shades in my collection but Gold Rush is yelling my name which is making it hard to refuse this palette especially considering the value as there’s at least $145 worth of product in here should you buy the shades individually. I’m still waffling on this one myself. Did you haul it?

So, tell me what did you end up with in the end?

I’d love to hear what you hauled!

So far I purchased the Urban Decay Backtalk Eye & Face Palette, both NARS blush palettes, and the Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Eyeshadow Palette.

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. UD Backtalk ✅. Nars 2, right after I activate the U cc. So much for massive under buy. Chop off the bottom row of the bigger ND, would be there, too. Rebirth of color! Hell, yeah!

    • Isabella Muse

get that 20% off too ;-D if you haven’t used it yet on the ulta cc!

This is such a nice, kind of gentle anti-haul, to post. It is pretty overwhelming but I had pre-set exactly what I would do for today’s launches:

    I used a $50 gift card plus the $10 Sephora coupon (it was sent via email to Rouge members, I think) to haul all three of the new Pat McGrath palettes;

    Of course I purchased the UD Backtalk palette;

And I wasn’t planning this one but I hauled the new Pretty Vulgar palette.

I’m still on the fence about the new Violet Voss palette so I pulled out all of the ones I have and compared and, from what I can tell based on the photo, it looks similar…but may haul yet.

On the fence about the ND palette because I do love her shadows but this palette is the same price as Lila and Sunset but smaller, supposedly due to a new formulation. But what if the new formula isn’t as good as the pervious? Hmmmm….

And finally, I’ve been waiting on the Jeffree Star Blood Sugar palette to restock (not doing a pre-order) so that’s on my radar.

    • Isabella Muse

LOL ;-D I love you had a game plan sis! ;-D I actually was talking about that in my prior post, I didn’t mine the smaller price but was terribly concerned the formula would be different. Let me know if you get the Blood Sugar Palette, quite curious about that one!

I ordered the Ud back talk palette. The nars vol 1 is in my cart. I also ordered the new Sephora collection Holographic collection blush palette with 6 blushes and highlight for $28. It got great reviews

    • Isabella Muse

is that the darker one? I was going to pick it up but haven’t yet 😀

      • kjh

No, the dark is the Spice Market one. ‘Contour blush.’ The holo doen’t swatch particularly holo. Big surprise. The highlighters are green, blue, pink, and the blushes are warm rose, purple, pink, per their description, which is semi-accurate. I’d swatch it first. I decided against it, but the formula seemed quite good.

  • Maria

No Muse. It in not the darker one. This is new with light shades. I am sorry I cannot link the page. It is the sephora collection face and cheek palette on website. . Very pretty. Great reviews.

  • Brian

The UD Backtalk palette and NARS Wanted Vol I are calling to me. I think I saw Gold Rush on Instagram in an individual box which will hopefully launch soon if you don’t want to buy all of the other colors again. But the packaging is too cute

  • Michelle

Tropical Natasha denona and pinky par mcgrath mini palettes.

  • Ksenia

Yesterday I bought Soft Glam and ND mini palette, can’t wait for it to be shipped.

  • jel888

I am staying in control, well sorta, as I only bought 45 bucks in brushes (like I really need, not 😉 and that way I stay away from palettes).

  • Kish

So I broke my makeup low buy and grabbed the NARS Vol 2. It’s so pretty. I also went to Ulta last night and got a hair cut and picked up the IT Bye Bye Foundation and the Catrice metal eyeshadow trio. And grabbed some new hair masks at Walmart. And sheet masks at Sallys. Back on the wagon. Tomorrow haha.

    • Isabella Muse

lol omg awesome hauling 😀 enjoy! I saw your tweet on the masks, I want to try those!

  • Sian

I’m officially broken. I ordered my laneige cushion compact i need yesterday and nothing else! Nothing. I mean.. it’s a good thing fiscally, right?
