Essence Kiss The Frog Lipstick Review & Swatches

Someday my prince will come but for now Essence Kiss The Frog Lipstick ($3.49) will keep my lips soft, smooth, and tinted a delicious pink until he arrives. As we near the Spring season you might be searching for that cute, natural hint of tint on your lips and this little balm might just do the trick. It’s also a heck of a lot cheaper compared to luxury brands like Lipstick Prince Frog Prince.

This adorable little lip balm arrives in a plastic barrel with a little frog prince on the cover. It’ll set you back $3.49 and contains 0.169 oz of lip balm. It’s a formula that adapts to your pH to give your lips a custom shade of pink. But hey, let’s be honest those never really work and most everyone gets the same shade of pink which may different slightly depending how pigmented your lips are.

It starts out green and once applied I get a delightful bubble gum pink on my lips. The formula applies smoothly with a lightly balmy finish and no fragrance or flavor. It provides lightweight moisture and a pretty tint of pink that lasts well after the balminess wears away for about two hours.

I tend to chronically apply and reapply lip balm throughout the day for moisture but also because I dislike touching up my lipstick and lipgloss. I appreciate tinted balms since they add a nice color to my lips which look rather tired and dry as the day progresses. This is the perfect little treat for a little moisture and color when I have no time to apply an entire lip look!

Do like!

It’s adorable and it looks rather fab on me!

It does look fab on you! I have to have every lip balm that comes out so must get this one too.

Thanks Muse. I love these. The color looks nice on you. They remind me of the green mood lipsticks from years ago. I have to add this to my ulta cart.

Oh Muse, that color is gorgeous on you! Your perfect pink! I may have to now go pick this up. I was on the fence on this one. Do you know if all the other ones (I think there’s 2-3 more?) go on the same pink tones? Thanks so much for reviewing this!

thanks Dee!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven’t tried the others but from what I hear they are indeed the same tone! I’ll pick them up and review see if they are 😀 My pleasure!

You are quite welcome Muse! If they are the same tone, I think I’ll just pick up one of them. Thank you again!

IDK if I can give up my beloved Frog Prince. I JUST bought my 4th tube and saw its going to be part of the upcoming Ulta sale, so I made plans to buy at least 2 more back ups. .. But I do love that there is a more affordable option out there to consider…

You should try this out see if it stands up to Frog Prince 😀

That does look terrific on you, Muse! I’ll have to pick one up on my next Ulta run.

I have this as well as the unicorn and mermaid ones. I love them all!

color looks a lot pigmented on your lips than the swatch. I’m tempted.

Excellent on you. Been tempted by hello, sailor, but not the other LQ pH changing shades.

So cute. I like that Essence has two others of these — a purple one and a blue one (unicorn and mermaid, I think?). I swatched all three in store and loved that each was a bit different.
