About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

Honestly, this LE release, then immediate markdown? Really? Seems it gives time for impulse, video, and blogger buyers, etc. time to get it and hype it to the max…..then to cut corners and issue ‘more cost effective’ (i.e. corners cut) product for the second wave. Bait and switch, with the same product. New concept. Call me a cynic; you’d be right.

Same thing happened with UD’s very similar vibe Basquiat set. Hype-hype-hype- half price.

Agreed. And just got an email from Too Faced: massive markdowns on a lot of their palettes. Glitter Bomb is $20,
White Chocolate Bar palette now $18!!! (Down from $49). That was a real stinker…

Wow. I bought it off UDs site or I would return it. That’s annoying how fast it went down.

I’m moderately upset about this because I paid full price for the daydream palette when it launched, but also because of her recent Twitter scrap. It left a sour taste in my mouth and now I feel weird using the palette :/

what happened on Twitter :(?! I don’t understand the insanity with sales lately. I think they just produce too much of something, over hype it, and suddenly the sales fail and they have to clearance it to get rid of it it seems like!

Back in February she made a huge deal about the Huda beauty Bronze Sands highlighter palette not catering to fair skin… Even when the palette was catered to darker complexions and they had already released Pink and Gold Sands for lighter and light- medium skin tones. She claimed after a lot of backlash that she was simply “misunderstood”, but it still felt incredibly insensitive, especially when her own UD highlighter caters to a very limited range of skin tones.

oh 🙁 I didn’t know. I’m one of those people that’s living under a rock because under her collaboration with UD I had no idea who she was :-/
