Clarins Harmony 4-Colour All-in-One Pen Arrives in the US

Remember those 4-Color Pens? It was a chubby pen that had little click buttons at the top that magically switched from red, green, blue, to black ink. I remember this was the height of a sophisticated school supply when I was in the 4th grade. I mean, we were barely out of using pencils and here’s this kid that comes waltzing into class with a pen that used actual ink but wait, not only was it an ink pen it was an ink pen with not one, not two, not three, but four different shades of ink! What magic and wizardry was this!?

My god it was wonderful and I remember begging my mom for one (and also a Sanrio Hello Kitty Pencil Box as well as a magnetic cube that held paperclips because the boy I sat next to, Zachary, had one which he confiscated from his dad’s office!). I imagine this must be where my wild obsession with stationary and office supplies began.

You have to ask yourself why someone in the makeup world hasn’t taken on a packaging like this? A single barrel that holds your eyeliner, lip liner, brow pencil, etc in one clickable pen. Wouldn’t that be clever?

Oh wait! Someone has created this already! Clarins in fact! Last year, Clarins Harmony 4-Colour All-in-One Pen launched in Europe but I never did hear about the US launch until now!

The Clarins Harmony 4-Colour All-in-One Pen ($32) is shaped exactly like those old 4-Color Pens and features four different color cosmetics in one simple and travel-friendly design.

The retractable pen holds 3 eyeliner shades in black, emerald, and plum as well as one pink lip shade that can be used to fill or define lips.

Pretty nifty right?

Or maybe I’m just obsessed with office supplies.

Clarins Harmony 4-Colour All-in-One Pen is available now at neimanmarcus.com and other color combinations are available at clarins.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Like the idea, but so wish it has a brown color and a nude for lower lash line/inner corner. Hope they will come out with more color configuration. Also hope some drugstore brand will give it a try too!

Agreed! I could use different shades than emerald and plum!

What are you talking about using that pen in grade school? I use one at work right now as we speak! I buy them myself because I love them! Anyway, this is a really cool idea! It’s like, how has no one thought of this before? Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer was testing the oil bladder only to abandon that idea and then said, How about ketchup and mustard in the same container? Genius!

Haha I can’t say I do! I’m a black gel ink girl myself ;-D but now I sort of want one ;-D LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha Muse…I thought I was the only one who loves office supplies! My second favorite section to shop at Target. The first, of course, being the beauty section!

Adorable. Somehow tongue in cheek. Ambulance cos still give the multicolor pens out. Some novelty pen cos have different color combos, and higher end pen brands like Lamy have multipurpose writing tools. But the one you pictured is like the Norman Rockwell of graphic implements! Remember how you had to have four, in case one ink color stopped working, to swap out? Clarins could be onto a good thing, with more colors. It’s the ultimate in portability, as long as the product doesn’t dry up.

I could’ve sworn that Clarins had this at Nordstrom last year and I think I saw a YouTuber give it a bad review so I skipped it,.

I did love my multi-pens. A friend gave me one last year that had six or eight colors of ink. I think she got it at Target.

I can’t recall it at nordstrom tbh! I do remember it circulating around on British beauty blogger sites! I swear I’d have picked it up if I saw it just because I like the design, diseased am I lol!

I have the office supply obsession too!! Back to school is my favorite time of the year haha. There’s my 40 year old self walking around buying stuff with all the kids. I’m glad I’m not alone. This is a great concept, but I can’t wear eyeliner because I’m terrible at applying it. But now I’m going to browse amazon for one of those pens…

    • Isabella Muse

Me too! I totally buy a school supplies in the Fall! Sorry, not sorry ;-D Haha! Hey the pen is cooler to have aorund than the makeup!

    • Amy

We might be sisters. I was nodding all the way through your post – I too love office supplies and I’m terrible at applying eyeliner. I’m 48 and have no kids, but I also love Back to School time.

I find it interesting that so many commenters here love office supplies. Hm. Wonder if a study has ever been done regarding the connection of makeup lovers and office supply devotees… Those multi-pens/pencils have become pretty fancy. Visit jetpens.com and check them out. Or not – it’s a dangerous website. 🙂

This is why we come here. Favorite season is Back to School. Dying here! But those supplies are much more inviting at T than the m/u to me. Totally squee to think of packing your work bag or classroom. I have to avoid it at BTS and midterm.

There are three color combinations available on the Clarins website, and that doesn’t include the basic (black, brown, blue eye and pale pink lip) that was released last year (I tried a tester but it was sold out) and is still available at a few stores.
    FYI… Clarins site:
Shade (01): Deep Black, Blue Marine and Forest Green for eyes; Rosewood for lips.
Shade (02): Deep Black, Platinum Grey and Essential Brown for eyes; Clarins Red for lips.
Shade (03): product details not up but appears to be the new one (harmony?).
Lots of color options for the office-supply+makeup lover in us all!

Been wanting these for a while. Waiting to find out whether they funtion well? And I think I’ll collect them all! To me, a kid at 12 years old just arriving fresh from Cuba I thought it was magic! I had a few still love them today with a passion, also love stationery things why not they are almost as pretty as makeup. Lol! My uncle who payed a coyote to get us out of (shit hole Cuba’s system) would buy them for me and my two brothers. Cuba is beautiful indeed but sadly the system slowly kills the soul if not fast enough. We waited 10 long years to get the hell out my Dad being a professional a dentist they held him pretty much as prisoner for this long along with his family so we waited and waited to finally come together. Left our home everything behind one evening! This guy came to tell us we were free to leave…finally! My older brother would turn the very next day 15 and would have to join the army so it was a miracle that we are all here thank God and have been proud United States citizens as soon as we all could be. The very first apple a delicious huge Fuji Apple I tried it was in Mexico City to make a movie or long story short! Lol! “♀️
I love writing my makeup inventory and my second passion gardening in pretty notebooks! Colors! I love all colors! 🙂
