Sephora Extra-Gentle Bi-Phase Makeup Remover For Eyes & Lips Cloudy Vision With a Sting

I picked up the new Sephora Extra-Gentle Bi-Phase Makeup Remover For Eyes & Lips since I’m a fond fan of the original Bi-Phase Makeup Remover they do (at least I was until the formula changed).

I’ve used it exactly once and I hate it. I rarely return anything but this is going back ASAP.

Sephora Extra-Gentle Bi-Phase Makeup Remover For Eyes & Lips us a bi-phase milky lotion created with cottonseed oil to gently remove makeup while hydrating eyes. As I said above I use to be a fond fan of the original formula but they somehow changed it and it started burning a good deal so I gave up on it.

Fast forward to a mere short few days ago and they released this “Extra Gentle” version and I was excited to give it another whirl. There’s no doubt that this removes eye makeup easily. I had no problems removing my eyeshadow, waterproof mascara, and eyeliner quite easily.

This does have a rose-like fragrance which didn’t bother me in the least but I mostly dislike the consistency of the formula as it feels quite greasy/oily on my lids and also left me with very, very cloudy vision. It kind of reminded me of the old Almay Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Pads. God, how I hated those. I could probably deal with the greasiness and even the cloudiness since they removed makeup so well but sadly, the formula made my eyes sting terribly. So much for extra gentle!

Sephora Extra-Gentle Bi-Phase Makeup Remover For Eyes & Lips wasn’t for me. This one is going back to Sephora!

If you’re curious enough to try it you can get it now at sephora.com.

LOL! I thought your review was going to end after, “I’ve used it exactly once and I hate it. I rarely return anything but this is going back ASAP.” That would have been enough for me since you rarely return anything. LOL!

ugh! It’s not even for the $14! It’s just the principal how bad it is! :-/ Oily, greasy, cloudy vision, stinging, so much for gentle!

You have to start some kind of ‘Muse Disapproved’ for the stuff that just won’t work. There’s something a bit Schadenfeude about not getting something , that is confirmed by your review. As in, whew, saved!

amen! I’m just cheap and hate paying that much for eye makeup remover!

GWP’s and the holiday beauty box girl! The only time I’ve ever paid for Bi-Facil is when Ulta had it for 1/2 price that time . . .

As much as you hate returnin things your feedback is important. They have reformulated and redistributed twice and this was a fail so maybe the feedback will help and the third time will be the charm!
I can’t stand that cloudy eye feeling!

I sure hope they see this and do improve because really, the name is so misleading!

Aw , that sucks!! Me – I’ve learned (the hard way) not to stray from my beloved Clinique Take The Day Off. There’s a Neutrogena dupe of it that’s really good too – but for some reason, it’s kind of hard to find, so I just pony up the sheckels and get the Clinique one. 🙂

how can they even market something that stings your eyes as “gentle”?! Idjuts….

Fructose? Caramel? What on earth are these ingredients doing in eye makeup remover?!?!

  • Laurie Angle

The waterproof formula of the Sephora remover reminds me very much of the Bi-Facial and works very well for me without an stinging. Have not noticed a formula change in this version.

Glad to hear it works for you! Sadly, it does something bad to my eyes! It used to be much more gentle!

Luv luv this extra gentle make up remover. I searched all over & finally found it. If it gets it in my eyes is milky & doesn’t irritate my eyes
