Pixi Rose Flash Balm Delightfully Hydrating and a Perfect Prep for Makeup!

Pixi Rose Flash Balm ($24) is probably one of my favorite skincare picks of the moment. This 3-in-1 formula can be used as primer, moisturizer, or a mask. As you may know I happen to be a big fan of Clarins Flash Balm but sadly it’s $48! Pixi Rose Flash Balm is $24, smells prettier, and is formulated just as lovely.

This is an oil-free, water based formula that arrives in a 1.52 oz squeeze tube. Honestly, if they were trying to give us all Clarins vibes they are doing a great job if with the packaging and name.

The texture is creamy, quick to absorb, and has a light rose-like fragrance. I wouldn’t say it is hydrating enough to use as a moisturizer if you’re try but will work beautifully as one if you have combo or normal skin. I personally use it as a primer as it smooths my skin, lightly hydrates it, and preps it well for my foundation to glide on easily and evenly. This is also how I use Clarins Flash Balm. There’s just enough moisture here to allow foundation to have a smooth appearance on my drier skin and also gives my foundation a nice hydrating base to adhere to without being oily or greasy.

I have used as a mask but I don’t really see many benefits from doing so plus you’re bound to run through it very fast using it this way so I stink to either using it as a primer or as a light moisturizer on days I’m just running around doing errands and not wearing a ton of other skincare. It wears quite nicely over my SPF and provides just enough moisture to keep my skin looking bright and happy.

Pixi Rose Flash Balm is absolutely delightful! I’m on my second tube and can’t recommend it enough!

Muse Approved.

hello you 🙂 Nice to see you in my comments! They have some great stuff that does surprise me at times ;-D

This looks very promising and the fact that you have purchased a second tube after the the PR sample is great, too.

What do you use for SPF in the AM? I am naturally lightly oily (with dry patches! Yeah!) but my current SPF (and most prior) just make me an oil monster and I hesitate to add anymore moisture to that (the Ordinary primer gave me really atypical blemishes, so no go. 🙁 )

I love it! Totally took the place of my Flash Balm from Clarins 🙂 Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence or Allie Extra UV Gel (reviews in the archives).

My pleasure! Honestly, Bobbi’s last so long you can prob get through to the next 20% off sale and not have to change 🙂

So you know how this would compare to the Bobbi Brown face base? I need a dupe for that! It’s so good but sooooo expensive 🙁

    • Isabella Muse

Bobbi Brown’s face base is a bit more emollient, this has a lighter, creamier texture!

Hey Muse! Do you wear this on top or underneath your SPF? I have the Clarins one and I never know what to do with my sun protection. I kinda wanna use this on top of my sunscreen but I’m afraid of disturbing the SPF benefits.

SPF is my first step prior to applying any other skincare!

Hi Muse! Can you tell me how this compares to the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm? I don’t want to shell out any money for that if it isn’t worth it.
