Tarte Makes Good By Launching 30 Shades of New Packaged Creaseless Concealer
Tarte Creaseless Concealer ($26) relaunched today in brand new packaging and most importantly in a 30 shade range selection. There was a lot of controversy and Tarte took a lot of heat when they launched their Shape Tape Foundation in a range of shades that was far from inclusive. Needless to say, they likely lost a fan or two due to that horribly thought out launch. From my understanding, their excuse was they wanted to get Shape Tape Foundation to the market quickly and they had plans to do a more wider selection of shades but for the original launch it was a bit limited. People felt very offended that their shade was represented in that original launch and with good reason as we all know brands have the means to do better.
I think to make good on their major mistake with Shape Tape Foundation they decided to go ahead and relaunch one of their more popular concealers formulas in extended shades. “Wait, what, Shape Tape Concealer isn’t their most popular formula?!” One does question which is the more popular of the two formulas and I guess we have our answer since Shape Tape Concealer is limited to 14 shades where as Creaseless Concealer is now available in a whooping 30. This is understandable since many people I talk to in the makeup loving world are quick to point out how much they really enjoy the Creaseless formula. I’m ok with it but it’s not really my favorite.
Until now…
As you might already know Creaseless Concealer used to be packaged in a tube which is always a little more messy for application purposes as you need to haul out a brush and squeeze out just the right amount and hope that you screw the cap on tight less the formula harden up, etc…etc…
I think I can honestly get on board with giving this formula another good since the new packaging is now a barrel with an attached sponge tip for application. Totally mess-free and easy to apply. Love that. I do wonder if it’ll be a bit creamier and perhaps more hydrating given this packaging.
But really, the packaging isn’t the main focus here. The fact that it is now available in 30 brand new shades is. That’s an additional 15 more shade options! As for the price that remains the same but I’m unsure how the size comparisons are as the original tube version contained 0.28 oz of product but they haven’t disclosed what the new version’s size is.
Will I try it?
Yes! I’m curious to see if the new version applies a bit nicer for me than the original.
