The Ordinary at Ulta Could Be Happening Considering It is Gone from Sephora

beauty news

Rumors that the Ordinary was pulling out of Sephora and being sold at Ulta in the near future might just be true considering most of the line has disappeared from Sephora.com and hasn’t restocked.

According to rumors there was some issues with payments being received from Sephora. Whether this is true or not or just the ravings of Brandon Truaxe remains the be seen because no official statement has been made by Sephora.

I do wonder if it has anything at all to do with the fact that Brandon has been on an Instagram rampage for several months posting a variety of weird, wild, wacky, and sometimes highly inappropriate videos and comments. I mean let’s not forget his wild adventure at the airport that sounded like he was being murdered but in truth he apparently just lost his luggage which was in the car all along. And of course, there’s also the late night hotel videos featuring “mystery rooms”. God love him there’s always some new and dramatic happening in Brandon’s life you just have to be from another planet to decipher what exactly he’s talking about.

The thing with Brandon is he’s caused quite a bit of drama and controversy and I wonder if Sephora wants to distant themselves from that. I mean didn’t they terminate Limecrime’s contract very quickly after customer complaints?

I don’t know the story behind it all but it does appear the Ordinary is set to not return to Sephora but we’ll see. Perhaps they’ll have some surprise restock? But one does have to question why the products just disappeared altogether from the site. Why aren’t they up with a “out of stock” post on them?

Hmmm!

What do you think is going on with the Ordinary and do you think the rumors are true about it heading to Ulta?

As of now you can still buy the Ordinary on their website or beautylish.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. GIRL you live under a rock lol! He has been causing absolute drama in the skincare world lately how do you miss his mad and wild ravings on Instagram!?

          • wendy

i closed my instagram account. But yeah, I pretty much live under a rock — well and HUGE pile of eyeshadow palettes to be exact LOL

    • Carol

Wendy, don’t feel bad. I had no idea who this person was either and have not heard about the brand either. I’m not on any social media so I wouldn’t have seen his rantings. Nevertheless I still read this post just because I read every one of Muse’s posts. 😉

      • Isabella Muse

carol you are too cute thanks for reading them all ;-D and Brandon aside, do check out the Ordinary! Some good affordable skincare picks in there ;D

I think I read a ‘for real’ about the Ordinary for Ulta. I tend to use Beautylish, but there’s always the deciem site, too. Seems to me that the Brandon stuff is not just zany antics. I think he REALLY needs better meds. Erratic behavior (and more than a few significant entries in DSM-5) could kill the best skincare experiment/ development of the decade. It’s one thing when you are in entertainment, and quite another when you are running a business.

    • Isabella Muse

I actually thought at first it was some sort of fabulous marketing scam! But now it just seems weirder and weird. I don’t know if he has any medical issues or if he is on meds but he does mention pills a lot. Or it could be the stress of the limelight who knows!

      • kjh

What I mean is he needs psychopharm, bec he clearly has a dx or five. But, put yourself in the place of the prescribing physician. How do you dare come up with a tx plan, when the guy may have substance issues? (May???). He is orbiting around Pluto. Poor downgraded Pluto. If nobody reins him in…and that’s often the prob for people on the top of the heap, esp those who do not report to a board….there are no checks and balances… crash and burn. Taking the cost effective skincare with him.

        • Isabella Muse

I have no idea if he has a mental disorder or if he is just eccentric!

    • Isabella Muse

Sadly, he will be. I’ve seen him call people “c*nt” and that’s one of the nicer things he has said. You gotta be kidding me. Get a grip, man!

      • wendy

oh lordy, i might have to sign back up on instagram for the entertainment LOL

        • Isabella Muse

oh girl there is so much entertainment! You gotta put him on alert though because he posts and deletes stuff!

          • wendy

i just signed up, and followed you…not off to find him LOL

  • MJ

He also threw tons of shade at Drunk Elephant and their CEO, Tiffany. Quite frankly, he could learn a thing or two about professionalism from her.

    • Isabella Muse

he recently threw some shade at caroline hirons as well who has supported the brand and him in the past!

      • MJ

Rude!! Glad I haven’t supported The Ordinary before and I definitely won’t now.

  • wendy

OMG I’m trouble. I just posted on his page “hi brandon, you’re gorgeous but i heard you were nuts” ROFL

    • Isabella Muse

I’d say eccentric. Some might say genius as his antics sells skincare 🙂

        • Isabella Muse

preach. That’s why I’ve always felt this seemed like some sort of wacky marketing technique.

  • Christina

Whoa, I don’t follow the brand and rarely use the products, but I know of the drama surrounding him. Out of curiosity, I peeked at the page and was completely shocked at some of the posts. Crazy, it’s changed so much from the last time I was on there, which was eons ago. I’m sorry I was even curious..lol!

  • Anna Fantasia

I’m allergic to many of his products, so I had to return several I had purchased from Sephora- took days to recover my skin . Too bad about his antics. In my opinion, rants and crazy doesn’t inspire too much confidence in a line (that looks so clinical from the straight forward packaging) and though its affordable its hard to take it seriously. There are so many amazing formulations in the industry and there is always another brand coming with something new and amazing just around the corner. With so many other choices, Good luck to him.

  • Jane

That man seems to suffer from legitimate, diagnosable mental illness and it makes me queasy as I, like everyone else practically, have close personal experiences with that. They do things that are so disgusting and baffling, but it’s just not really them. I’m ineloquently saying that I want to support the company because I like how they positioned themselves – affordable, effective skincare – and because I feel like his employees shouldn’t be punished for his mental illness.

And I would like to try the raspberry ketone self tanner on one of their sibling sites.

I was at an Ulta outside of Boston last week and asked one of the CS people about Ulta taking on The Ordinary. She asked her manager, who just came back from a big corporate meeting. The manager said yes, it’s happening although they don’t have a confirmed date yet.

  • Lisa

I love their products and it makes me so sad to see how he reacts to any sort of criticism or even calls to calm down that are sent with love. He has started attacking people who comment, even mildly against his antics. I love their products but I am really worried they are going to end up losing all backing and shut down. Heck, I could see Brandon just deciding to shut everything down on a whim. I’ve used 5 or 6 products and loved all but 1, the vitamin c 30% in silicone suspension and that’s only because it might be too strong for me. I feel like ordering a ton of stuff to stock up though. I hope things work out well with Ulta!

  • hopechan

i love The Ordinary’s line of skincare products as i’m someone who wants high quality straight forward ingredients without the high end price tag. the simplicity and transparency of the products is what pulled me in and they’ve become my favorite serums. i’ve seen a lot of improvement in my skin in the last year and i have The Ordinary (and clarisonic) to thank. im super excited at the idea of picking them up from Ulta! and personally, i couldn’t care less if the CEO was a bit eccentric. we all have our crazy days; it’s just magnified when you have a 100k+ follower count and the immortal internet screenshotting every word.

  • Tigerlaf

When the founder of Ordinary stops doing drugs that’s when the crazy rants and erratic behavior will stop. I don’t have another plausible explanation to his incompetent behavior, other than drug use or, maybe, an untreated mental disease, such as schizophrenia, to name one.

  • Lily

Brandon’s behavior has put me off from buying the deciem products.. I used to be quite curious about their products and even order twice, but I don’t think I will order again :/

  • Silvia

I read something quickly on Fat Mascara on fb but have not tried The Ordinary yet and don’t follow closely much media surprised it is out of Sephora already? I kept meaning to try their buffet. Oh, well, slow as a snail maybe keeps me safe. Lol! So I’m sort of under a rock also more or less. Need to read more about guy.

  • Cil

My TO products arrived last Friday (vitamin C, buffet and AHA+BHA). I bought them back in January and at the time was reading just the reviews. One thing lead to another, anorther being TO IG. The man is weird. It is the first and last time I’ll buy from them. Too much drama, lack of professionalism and who knows what is going behind the production line there with a crazy person behind manufacture.

I used the AHA+BHA. It is good, but my Neostrata 15% glycolyc acid gel is as good. As I applied it only once, let’s see how it goes longterm.

Obs: Yep, I leave in Brazil sooooooo 4 months to delivery is the standard here

  • Erica

I don’t care how great the products are, I don’t give my money to raving lunatics. He did his Co-CEO Nicola Kilner, so dirty and SHE is what made that company great. It’s amazing what people are willing to look past…
