Benefit Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation for Summer 2018

Benefit Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation is a new lightweight formula that blurs the appearance of flaws while providing light coverage and I’m personally thrilled about the launch. Benefit brings us this new foundation formula in 12 shade selections for $29 each at 1 oz in size.

They are obviously influenced by Japanese foundation formulas with this packaging and fluid formula. You might have read a few reviews I’ve done in the past of similiar products such as Lunasol Modeling Beige Skin and Shiseido InteGrate Mineral Water Foundation Liquid. Fluid foundation is very common in Japan and most every brand has a version that comes housed in the same exact packaging as Benefit’s new Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation.

This also reminds me of one of my HG foundations the wonderful, brilliant Shiseido Perfect Refining Foundation! Let’s hope it’s formulated as well!

This apparently has light-to-medium coverage and a liquid-texture with an SPF 15. I’m imagining it’ll be lightweight and perfect for the warmer weather wear. They say it blurs the appearances of imperfections with soft-focus optical blurring spheres and has a natural matte finish.

I’ve had some really good success with Benefit’s coverage options so I have hopes that Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation works out for me.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. No go. It’s the chem sunscreen (major unpleasant reaction) plus alcohol is ingredient #3. I’m so pissed that KGD reformulated, downsized, and jacked up the price.

Ugh.. denatured alcohol is WAY up in the ingredient list so it’ll be a no go for me…. Didja notice that titanium dioxide is listed twice – once in teh second line, and once in the bottom line as a “may contain” – I always wondered about those “may contain” disclaimers… Why don’t they know exactly what’s in their product? Kinda scary if you ask me… 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

the may contain always puzzles the heck out of me too!

    • Jane

I think them “may contain” is based on different colors. Like there would be more titanium dioxide in a lighter color, for example. So yours “may” contain that second dose of titanium dioxide.

It is already available on HSN. All shades available with a shade chart.

    • Isabella Muse

Yup I know. It’s on ulta and Sephora as per my post 🙂

Alcohol, noooooo! I can get away with it for a day or two and then I begin to notice burning upon application. Cute product though!

I can’t wait to try this! I am the rare (but huge) fan of their big easy foundation- but the shades changed!! so I’m hoping this will be a good replacement option!

I was thinking this was probably a revamp of one of their older foundations but I couldn’t remember the name.

I’m excited about Jared getting his own movie too.

hm really!? Do you mean The POREfessional Pore Minimizing Makeup!? I am too! Most of the fandom hates him, I adore him 😀

I hope they improve the shades. I’ve found them to be very yellow which is a darn shame as I love the soft matte finish they excel at.
