An Introduction to the Parfumerie On Etsy
Since Summer is here I thought now was a good a time as any to discuss the Parfumerie which can be found on Etsy or if you’re in Connecticut or close to it they have a store at 246 Main St in Danbury, Connecticut.
It’s no great secret I love fragrance. It’s a passion of mind that’s actually bigger than my love of makeup and I have a rather larger collection of scents that rivals my makeup one. Like any fragrance lover, I like my scents to linger and have a good projection which is one reason I love perfume oils. You know from many of my past reviews that I collect, love, and wear oils from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab aka Bpal as well as a variety of other e-tailers that can be found on Etsy and otherwise.
A few months ago I discovered the Parfumerie on Etsy and down the rabbit hole, I went.
The Parfumerie takes perfume oils very, very seriously. In store, they carry over 800 perfume oil blends whereas online they carry a rather extensive array of Attars, Floral, Foody, Sweet, Fruity, and Gourmand fragrance oils. Each oil comes in a 10 or 30 ML rollerball with prices starting as low as $11.
Several months ago I purchased four oils from the Etsy Shop and fell in love. Two of those blends were Vanilla Musk a gorgeous white cake vanilla and White Musk and stunning, clean, close-to-skin musk that smells simply beautiful!
I almost forgot I had these oils until recently when I started rotating my fragrances and bringing out my Summer scents (I know I’m late but Summer came rather late). Because you see nothing quite wears as well as a perfume oil does in the Summer. Perfume Oils are great no matter the season or the weather. They tend to project really well with a very strong scent and throw. But in the Summer and in the warmer weather I always feel like they perform even better since your body runs warmer and this makes the oil heats up and creates this beautiful fragrance aura around your body. On a rather humid Summer night when I went to see Shakespeare in the Park I kept sniffing the air around me and thinking, “Holy cow what is that amazing vanilla scent?!” It’s always rather nice when you realize, “Oh! That’s me!”
That’s perfume oil for you! Just sit in the heat for a brief second and suddenly you’re surrounded by a burst of scent or walk briskly a few blocks in the city and you’ll have people asking you, “What’s that gorgeous smell!?”
The Parfumerie oils are 100% alcohol free and created with natural and essential oils. They have a lightweight feel on skin without the dryness that alcohol can contribute to a fragrance when misted onto the skin. I typically roll them on before I put on my clothes. From my belly button all the way up to my neck and on my pulse points, the balls of my shoulders, between my arms, and at the back of my knees. A little goes a really long wear as they are quite strong and wear long.
Some of my favorites are White Musk, Sugar Cookie, Amber Cookie, and Campfire and Marshmallow. The lovely thing about some of these blends is the fact you can easily mix and match them. Don’t get me wrong I love my Bpal oils but they aren’t great for layering unless you buy some of the single notes which aren’t always readily available and typically get launched for a limited time during different seasonal launches. With The Parfumerie there are tons of single notes that easily mix and layer well together.
The shop is fantastic shipping wise. I got my order in like three days and the owner included some lovely sample oils as well and personally reached out to me because I was unknowingly overcharged for shipping and she refunded me.
Anyway, if you’re a fond fan of fragrance you should love delving into this shop and to discover some fun new scents!
