NYX Unleashed Midnight Chaos for Your Fall Looks

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

NYX Midnight Chaos is a new sultry, gothy selection of shades that get an early Fall 2018 launch today. I’m noticing a lot of brands seem to be embracing their inner goth for their Fall Collection. Bobbi Brown, Wet n Wild, and now NYX all have some very dark, sultry shades for the season ahead.

The Midnight Chaos Collection contains Dual Ended Eyeliners, a new Midnight Chaos Shadow Palette, and Midnight Chaos Lipgloss.

The collection does remind me of Wet n Wild’s Midnight Mermaid Collection that launched last year.

Let’s take a look.

NYX Midnight Chaos Shadow Palette ($21.99) is a 10-pan palette that contains matte, chromatic, and metallic finish eyeshadow shades in a select of purple, aqua, and cranberry shades that they say can create an ethereal unicorn or vampy mermaid look. What? Yes, that was the sound of my eyes rolling back into my head. The unicorn/mermaid angle has been worked to death and I’m so over it.

NYX Midnight Chaos Lipgloss ($8.99) is a luminous pearls gloss with an iridescent finish that has a shifting effect which is available in 7 shade selections.

And finally there are six shades of NYX Midnight Chaos Dual Ended Eyeliner ($13.99) that have a matte liquid eyeliner on one side and a duo chromatic topper on the other.

The NYX Unleashed Midnight Chaos Collection is on sale for buy 1, get 1 50% off now at Ulta.

I noticed Nyx prices are getting higher for a drugstore brand. Crazy

Nyx, Nyx, Nyx. We knew you when. When you were drugstore-affordable. 🙁

I feel like NYX is trying to creep into midrange pricing. I dont know if I’m willing to spend that much on a drug store palette.

As others have already noted, their prices are getting a bit ridiculous. And the last three different lip products I’ve purchased aren’t really worth it. Especially not with Wet n Wild, Morphe, and Makeup Revolution just as easily available at Ulta, far cheaper, and much better quality.

I would suggest swatching these shades and agree with the ridiculous prices creeping up. The Mochy highliters end it up in clearance bin at Target at half price they were asking $18.99 I believe? I didn’t get them even on clearance Lol! not my favorite shades. I do like my Warm Neutrals I got from Nyx and all of those but the other one with Earth, Fire, Air, I find them hard to blend they are gritty like a sand poured into those. No for that crazy price I’m not jumping. I actually prefer my WetnWild liquid lipsticks over both Nyx and Colourpop they stay and never balled on me so I’m loyal to WetnWild and Colourpop does have amazing eyeshadows I love them all.
