It’s been several years since I went with all the changes to get tickets and the weird lottery system it’s like, thanks but no thanks. Anyone goING this year!? Anyone eager to see Jodie take the stage? We get to see more of her during the World Cup finale or at least you do UKers the rest of us have to wait for the clip to hit the Internet. This is truly Doctor Who history in the making. I might cry.

😉

I hope you have a great weekend ahead! Looking forward to hearing your plans in the comment.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I’m so excited to see Jodie as the new Doctor!! There’s been a ton of negativity surrounding her, but I loved her in Broadchurch and I think she’s going to be absolutely smashing as the Doctor! I’ve never been to CC, tickets are impossible to get, so I live vicariously through the taped panels shown in YT.

    • Isabella Muse

I enjoyed her in Broadchurch too! There sure is a lot of negativity 🙁 But I’m excited none the less! I’ve been twice but it was before they started but tickets are just a hassle now. The virtual wait rooms, lotto, etc..! You can still go in all honesty as there’s a lot to do around SD the days of! plus zero wait time to get into the halls ;-D

    • Jane

I just watched Broadchurch (start to finish – I binged) last week. She’s really good in it. I have rarely watched Doctor Who (sorry, Muse) but I think she’ll be outstanding in it. (Am I the only one who wanted to hit Mark, hard, for being so gosh dang annoying?)

Going by the online pics, the blushes are too clear and loud for me. I need dirty roses, funky reds, some color complexity. I went to see if Flesh fit the bill today, but my nearest Ulta doesn’t stock it. Grrr.

      • Isabella Muse

Sorry, we can’t be friends with you anymore for not being a whovian ;-D haha…! You should watch it. Honestly, you can jump right into it as every Doctor brings something fresh to the table ;-D Mark was horrible. He just came across so selfish like he was the only one mourning. ugh! They are BOLD in the promo images. I gotta stop by and see what they look like in person first!

Hi Muse! We are picking up our new bernese mountain dog puppy this weekend. 🙂 We have a 10.5 year old one as well, but we lost our 2.5 year old one completely out of the blue this past winter. The new puppy will never replace him, but we’re really excited to be a two dog family again. 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

I’m so sorry jen! 🙁 That’s terrible. I’m a dog mom I totally know the feeling of losing a furbaby 🙁 I’m sorry! I’m happy you’re getting a new puppy though 🙂 Boy or a girl? Any names picked out yet!? 😀

      • Jen R

Thank you so much – it was very, very hard, but we’re doing better. And this new little boy – Boris! – will help us heal. And we’re so grateful for our sweet old senior girl, too!

Please give your sweet furbaby an extra snuggle for me!

        • Isabella Muse

All my love truly! I totally know how you feel and it is never easy! Most people would disagree but puppies or a new dog/cat really does help with the healing process. Or at least it has for me in the past. Have Boris and your senior dog interacted yet? 🙂 I surely will! I had a emergency with her this week! OMG freak out. She had her rabies and distemper vaccine and she developed some sort of crazy allergic reaction. Broke out into hives. I rushed her to the emergency and thank god she is ok and doing well. But man I was freaked out. She blew up like a little blow fish!

          • Agona

Your poor puppers!! I had a crazy time a couple of weeks ago when my puppy got giardia. After a night of poops and vomits, I rushed her to the vet’s where she was blowing out both ends at the same time. I was embarrassed at first but the vet got to witness the symptoms first-hand. After some fluids and a round of antibiotics and other meds, she’s doing good! But boy, was that a rough night/morning!!! Best quote of the day from a co-worker though when I got back from work; “Coworker: How was the vet appointment? Pup okay? Me: Yeah, a little embarrassed though (explained above). Coworker: Oh, giardia! I had that in Afghanistan. I know how she feels!!” -_-

          • Isabella Muse

omg poor thing!!!!!!!! lol omg funny 🙂 “I know how she feels!” LOL!

          • Jen R

Oh, I’m so glad she’s okay! I worry so much with little dogs since they’re so small and so fragile. But I’m so glad she’s feeling better, and hope they can figure it out to prevent it when she gets her shots next time.

I’m thoroughly expecting my senior dog to be less than thrilled with a new puppy, but as long as they can coexist (relatively) peacefully, everything should be good. 🙂

            xoxox!

          • Isabella Muse

The scary part is I’m not sure if it was the vaccine or something else so I’m going to have them perform an allergy test to see if that was the cause. She really is so tiny (3lbs 8 oz) and it just scared the hell out of me as it looked like she was struggling breathing when the hives started popping up on her face!

I think they’ll get used to each other after a time 🙂 and love each other! Might take a second but I’m sure it’ll work out. Send pics! 😀

Ok, dog people. I had a vet home visit this week, for the two dachsies. Since Patticake had neurosurgery last year, and that could mean crate and carriage, plus the other little land eel, I decided to go for it. (I know the woman.) One thing she did, esp since they was having 2 part Lyme, was to leave out the distemper on the girl, to do at the second visit. She also asked about vaccine reactions (no KVD here.) Patti is a puppy mill mother, which means she spent seven years in a crate being bred and vaccinated within an inch of her life. But even with the dropped vac, she was logy, bit unsteady, and didn’t walk in the PM. Vaccs are tricky. BITD, I was revacced and given new stuff for study abroad, and it kicked the wazoo out of me, too. So, sometimes it is better to spread them out. Muse, with an upstate w/e home, I think your Huahua really ought to have the (optional) Lyme, so you could spread out the vaccs into two visits. Re: pet loss, I could have a phd in that. But today, the boss had just lost her only child (Boxer) to lung cancer with no warning. I was forewarned at another center yesterday, spoke with the Friday boss on Thurs, and on neither day did she tell me. In fact, she left work rather than be able to relate the tragedy. The center is in crisis mode, and she knows we would both lose it. I cried all the way home, even though I ‘don’t know.’ That is one thing that you get used to, but never get over, especially when it’s a medical emergency. It’s like being shot between the eyes. I feel dreadfully for you, Jen. And, Agona, you learned the hard way not to drink the cool refreshing spring water! Poor baby. One of my besties got it on a hike. The opposite of fun. Kind of makes you want to stay out of the woods.

          • Isabella Muse

It’s weird because she’s always had them together with no issues but this visit she suddenly broke out into hives. Was very scary! She already has her tick/lyme so she’s good on that thankfully and you’re right upstate has a lot of thick grass and she’s playing/running around like a little idiot when we’re up there so it’s always good idea to keep her safe. I’m so sorry 🙁

          • Agona

Ticks skeeve me out!! Did you see there’s one that causes a red meat allergy now??! Ugh…I still need to do the follow up fecal to make sure we killed all the giardia in puppers.

    • Agona

I feel for you. I lost my 15 year old Eskie about 2 years ago. I got a puppy a year later (she’s 9 months old) so I’m a two dog household again. My 13.5 year old Kees does sometimes get harassed by the pup but the pup loooooves her and tries to snuggle up/play/be near her every chance she gets!! I still miss my old man Eskie but it is so great having a bubbly bouncy pup around to add laughter back into my life.

  • Karen Hunter

I wish we would know more about your back story. Yes, it’s none of our business, I get it. But, simply put, I’m not sure how you do it? A few nights ago I googled you and came to a forum that spoke about you, they thought your were a bit conceded and a humblebragger. Not, sure I agree with that. But, I do wish I had your life. You can post this or not, I’m sure your die hard fans will rip me a new one.

    • Isabella Muse

Hi Karen! Which back story is you needed to know about? And how I do what? What is it I’m doing that you’re not sure about how I do? Curious minds. Not sure they can really tell if I’m conceited or a bragger via makeup reviews but who knows? Everyone is entitled to an opinion. If there are questions you have feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to answer them!

      • Jess

Hi Muse. Ive always wondered about your personal life too, like Karen. I think it’s because we read your words and opinions everyday that you start feeling like a potential friend who we want to get to know better and like Karen I also sometimes wish I could have your life. With all your traveling and freedom. The highlight of my life is going to the grocery store every week so I live and travel and have fun vicariously through you

        • Isabella Muse

Hi Jess! How are you? You’re always welcome to ask anything you’re curious about (I have an about me section if that’s any help, not the one in this post but an actual about me post). I see all of you as friends too! I dunno how great my life is. Pretty basic really but I like it well enough and I’m thankful for it everyday I wake up! I’m up at 4.30AM everyday to do the blog, get to my office and “real job” by 9:00am in the morning, work until 5pm Monday through Friday (unless it’s renewal season! in that case I’m in the office until like 1AM tearing my hair out lol!), try to get socializing in, fun, or errands and doing adult stuff after after 5. And enjoy weekends like anyone else. ;-D I dunno if I’m doing anything major exciting over here in all honesty but I do love to travel that’s true and my BF is on the West Coast so we both do a lot of hopping back and fourth on planes. He does the bulk of it though bless his heart. I don’t have kids unless you count my pets 😉

  • Jenna

It’s not Comic Con, but Connecticon is this weekend. I’m pretty sure it’s not that far from you. I’ll be there all weekend, and it’s a ton of fun. A multi genre convention. Sci-fi and anime mostly

Jodie was so great in Broadchurch, I just wanted to stand up and cheer when she was announced as the new Doctor.

I’m not surprised by the negativity, though. There’s a whole lotta misogyny out there. Remember how POd some guys were over the last Ghostbusters movie? Apparently they’ve got their panties in a wad over some female and non-Caucasian characters in the recent Star Wars films as well. Some people won’t be happy unless they’re living in Gilead.

    • Isabella Muse

She really played a great part in Broadchurch especially the final season! I loved that she had her period of mourning but came out of so much stronger for it and was able to forgive. OMG ghostbusters suffered hard backlash when it was released! Did you see what they did to Kelly Marie Tran? They absolutely ripped her! It was really, really sad! LOL Gilead ;-D

    • Jane

And after finally seeing 2016 Ghostbusters on DVD, I found it way funnier than the original! There had been so much negativity toward it I was expecting a crapfest but it was really good.

      • Isabella Muse

I’m a ghostbusters purist and had nothing against the new version I was just bitter that they didn’t have the original cast making more cameos but aside from that I was fine with it and enjoyed it ;-D I’d love to see a sequel!

    • Carol G

I’m not a Dr Who fan but I sure did love Broadchurch! But I agree, I’m sure a lot of people are mad it’s a woman this time.
On another note, I would not EVER live in Gilead. I would die trying to get to Canada! Godspeed, June!

  • Agona

I loved Sephora’s Lip Stories Lipsticks–I might try their blushes!!

  • kjh

Ya know, I get so carried away by dogs, that I forgot the makeup. Another form of makeup dementia. These look to be virtually the same line up as before, names anyway, with new packaging. Big S blushes are pretty good. The Spice Market palette is nice, different, and quite diverse-friendly, though many of the colors are not what you expect from the pan. Not so much for the fainthearted, that palette.

My plans this weekend include a BBQ and resisting the soda tint vending machine set from Etude House. Have you seen it? I’m on a makeup no-spend because I’m going to Korea this year, but I’m freaking out!!! A makeup vending machine is too cute. How can I resist????

    • Isabella Muse

How was the BBQ?! 😀 Any good foods? I am NOT buying that or at least I told myself I won’t. I already have the Peri’s Mini Fridge and I question why I even own it LOL! so I told myself no no and no on the Etude House Soda Tint Vending Machine. Let’s see how long the ban works!

  • Agona

I eyeballed the pink blushes this weekend but they were all matte finish–not my fav! I’m still considering it though!! …maybe wait until I see some swatches.
