Two Things I Really Want To Try from NIOD

It’s still Summer but I’m bracing for the cold weather and already concerned about my moisture intake. I’ve added NIOD Voicemail Masque and Hydration Vaccine to my Winter skincare wish list and I’m hoping they prove as miraculous as everyone claims they are. NIOD is a brand created by the Ordinary but does quite come as cheap!

NIOD Hydration Vaccine is an interesting formula. This actually acts as a breathable and weightless hydration seal that creates a barrier around your skin so water and moisture isn’t loss. Apparently it contains Fungi Composite Organisms that reverse loss of firmness so skin appears 20 years younger. Damn those be some big claims!

NIOD Voicemail Masque is an equally interest formula. This is a leave-on overnight mask that attacks dullness and uneven skin tone. According to them within one use your skin will appear brighter! I recently purchased Paula Radiance Renewal Mask and I have to admit after all the raving reviews I was somewhat disappointed I didn’t notice any major change in my skin after using the entire bottle. I should hope Voicemail Masque is better at $45.

It’s probably too early to be worrying about Winter skincare but believe me Summer flies by fast and before you know it we’ll be worried about the cold weather once again! I, for one, can’t wait even though it’s havoc on my dry skin!

What’s on your skincare wish list at the moment?

I tried the Hydration Vaccine – finished the bottle – and wasn’t impressed. I am combo have to deal with brutal Chicago winters and get a lot drier. This just didn’t seem to add any moisture. I ended up using a moisturizer and putting this over it. It just seemed like an extra step that didn’t really do anything. I just wanted to use the bottle up and say I gave it a fair try. But you know, YMMV.

thanks for the update! That saves me $$! question, does it come with any sort of applicator? The packaging looks awkward!

No applicator. NIOD sells little metal “spoons” to use as applicators for their products. I used one of those.

thanks! I was wondering how the heck you get it out of the jar! I thought maybe there was an applicator or a dropper!

I recently invested in some stuff from CosRx and the Origins Weil mushroom line and so far I’m pleased. I’ve been trying glycolic acid stuff and it just doesn’t work for me. I wanted to like it, but it’s too harsh. So I cut that out and added gentler stuff. I look better already. So my skincare wishlist is almost empty, except for the Origins Weil Mushroom Mask.

I’m sort of like that with chemical exfoliating formulas as well! I tend to stick to physical ones!

If you find something that will firm my sagging face and eyes, I’ll buy a vat of it!

Can’t wait to read your review if you buy the two Niod products. Interestingly enough, we just came back from Canada, and while wandering around Toronto, we saw the flagship Deceim store. I went full-on fangirl, finally able to swatch the foundation after giving up trying to decide my shade and formula from the website. I only went for The Ordinary products because this was the end of our trip and I’d already gone a little nuts at drugstores in Quebec and Montreal, where they sell brands like Avene and Neostrata next to the Maybelline, but for 25% less. Oh my.

Anyway, at the gorgeous and spare Deceim store, I bought foundation, primer, an anti-oxidant and stocked up on niacinamide. Before that, I was shopping my stash and focusing on the closest OTC options to Retin-A, vitamin c, sunscreen and hyaluronic. Now that my skin is drier, I pay much more attention to your affordable K and J Beauty recs.
