About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I am so excited about these! I love her videos and I’ve learned about so many good things, including a lot of Revolution products. So I will definitely be hauling these!

    • Isabella Muse

I’m excited too! I like Makeup Revolution and I like her so it’s a win!

  • KimMWC03

I’m so excited for Emily! I love her videos and thinks she’s one of the very best of youtube. Definitely picking both of this up at this affordable price.

    • Isabella Muse

ITA! She’s honest, does great reviews, plus she has that soothing voice lol! ;-D

  • Carol G

Muse: full confession here. I have no idea who this person is. I had to laugh at myself while reading this post where you state, “As you know already…” I was thinking, No, I don’t know but ok. I don’t watch YT for makeup reviews. I only rely on you and Christine and that’s it.
I do like Makeup Revolution as a brand so I might check these out, but only because you are posting about them, not because someone’s name is associated with it. Like I didn’t get the big deal about those Morphe/Jacklyn Hill palettes. Is she their owner? Or is she another YouTuber?
Frankly I have no idea who she is! But I am 50, so when I was younger makeup was just makeup. All these collaborations are a newer thing so I really don’t pay any attention to them, to be honest.

    • Isabella Muse

Oh it’s ok. I’m really not on the up and up with youTube either and I’m sometimes embarrassed I don’t know all the gurus that everyone is watching. I don’t watch much youTube simply because I don’t have the time for it and also, I just like reading blogs. But I do watch Emily! You should def check her out! 🙂 She’s actually a youTuber but not involved directly with Morphe! I hope you like these! I ordered them too! I’m eager to try them out ;D and thank you by the way, I’m flattered that you read Musings of a Muse <3! and rely on it for your reviews/beauty news!

Well, Carol, almost 70 here. Like you, I only learn about the influencers and YT vloggers from Muse and Christine. Subscribe to no one, but occ peek at IG or YT when googling for swatches or reviews. I feel I have dipped my toe. EmilyNoel83 (? See, not sure I know) is a very calming, non hyped reviewer. She has a real life that she neither exploits nor flaunts. She gives honest opinions, and I believe she is not for sale, IYKWIM. Kind of the antithesis of J* or the K sis crowd. Nothing raunchy, vulgar. Hope she is too busy to read this, but she’s kind of the church lady of makeup videos. (Not snl…) Just wholesome and honest. Can you believe there is such a thing? Take a peek.

Emily is different. I don’t buy anything because somebody put their name on it. But I did buy this because Emily is awesome. She’s a regular gal like you and me. Sweet lady, no drama, no bs, no nonsense. Just an every day girl (woman). I wanted to show my support for how much I’ve gotten from watching her videos for so long no so I bought these palettes.

  • Stephanie

I love Emily Noel! She seems like such a sweet person and I trust her reviews. I’m really happy for her collaboration with Makeup Revolution. I’ll be checking these products out.

    • Isabella Muse

likewise! She’s one of the few people that doesn’t feel like she sold out!

  • Wendi

Love Emily. She’s smart, articulate, honest and humble. Love to see a youtuber with integrity, who has managed to be successful while staying true to herself and above the fray. Will definitely get one or both pallets.

  • Ashley

I legit never buy stuff when it’s hot off the press, but as soon as I watched her video I bought them! I’m so excited!!!! And soooo happy for her!! Now for a muse palette! 😉

  • Dee

I’m a huge fan of Emily’s (my daughter is too!) and I’m excited for her and can’t wait to try these. The face palette is the one I’m most interested in as I’m always looking for that perfect travel “all in one” palette. I like that there are four mattes.

I like her because she loves makeup! (That’s why I love you too!) and she really hasn’t changed since I started watching her. I absolutely trust her reviews and I like listening to her. I am sure that is due to her training when she did the news, but she has a voice that is easy to listen to.

Two of my favorite things are watching Emily and reading Musings of a Muse! I’ve said this before but I love getting my coffee and sitting down at my computer and readying your blog, Muse.

    • Isabella Muse

awwwwwwwww dee! thank you! <3! I'm honored to be part of your daily reads! And btw I like Emily for all the reasons you listed! I totally find her voice really soothing!

  • Denise

I’m a huge fan girl of Emily Noel and Beauty Broadcast. Which is why I paid retail to get my hands on both palettes within 2 hours of viewing the launch reveal video! I’m sure there’s a 20% off coming up at ULTA sometime soon, but I just couldn’t make myself wait.

  • Brenda K

I have loved her for nearly a decade and will be buying these simply because I love her. I have never purchased a collab collection… but definitely will this time. I would love to see her do one with Besame. I have not tried that brand but know that she loves them and I think it would be so perfect for her. She is a sweetheart, through and through. Thank you for being so awesome as always! I always love reading your posts! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

I feel like her signature shade is some sort of red or bold raspberry lipstick so I think Besame would be perfect for her! ;-D She truly is a very sweet person and hard working! ;-D I purchased it too! I can’t wait to try! Aw thanks Brenda <3! xo!

  • Sarah

Love her. She’s so honest and helpful and just has so much integrity. Ordered already!

  • Wendy Sue

I’d love to haul both, but my husband might divorce me! hahahaha! Hell, I’d divorce me!

  • Julia Thompson

Love Emily and bought “The Wants” as soon as I saw her YT video announcement!

  • l

I watched Emily Noel’s unveiling video on Youtube and she was so humble and grateful for this whole experience. She was discussing her journey of how she came up the palettes, from choosing the colors and why she gave each one it’s name. She basically cried tears of absolute joy while describing the whole process that she went through. I feel that she gives very good honest reviews and would be really picky about putting her name on any product that wasn’t terrific. I am looking forward to getting both palettes! If you get a chance, check out Emily Noel’s video on youtube.

I never buy makeup as soon as it drops EVER (only exception was the ABH x Mario palette because it looked gorgeous) and I am doing it for the second time – I bought the Wants and the Needs the second it popped up on Ulta. I never do this, but they are affordable, look nice and honestly, I want to support Emily. I am so tired of seeing the same flashy, fake YouTubers get most of the collab opportunities. Emily is 100% herself. She is a girl from the midwest who loves makeup and her family and she isn’t a climber. She isn’t fancy. She doesn’t show off. And I find that so refreshing – especially in light of the drama YET again with Jaclyn Hill, Jeffree Star, Manny MUA, Laura Lee etc.

  • Silvia

Can’t wait to see the swatches of the Want palette and will most probably get it anyways and the smaller too. I’d like to support Emily she’s honest, simple, nice and decent there’s no drama in her page ever! No huge fish lips or blinding highliter just nice. So pleasant to watch. Her girls are adorable nice family.
    Go Emily!!

  • Denise Marie

Hey There! I’m so glad you’re still posting your reviews! Nice familiar faces are always welcome. And I appreciate your swatches and input very much. I am very happy for Emily’s recognition. She is a sweetheart, indeed! However, I won’t be purchasing the products. I personally aim to steer clear from supporting China-made products as much as possible, and the ingredient list doesn’t make me happy. These days I look to small Indie companies for my cosmetics as much as possible. I’ve even been using my DIY facial oils instead of purchasing expensive face creams. No matter, I still applaud Makeup Revolution for reaching out to Emily, and I hope they can also do that for many other YouTubers out there who love their products. Thank you! Take Care!

    • Isabella Muse

Hi! thanks! I’m always here ;-D <3! She is indeed I'm really glad she got this collab! understandable! A lot of people really don't like China-made makeup/palettes for a variety of reasons! You take care as well! 🙂

  • Lori

I am also a huge fan of Emily. She is so down to earth and such a real person, unlike a lot of other You tubers. She gives such honest reviews too. Excited about her palettes.

  • Joanne

I love Emily, and watch her regularly, but nothing she recommended has ever worked for me. Also, I’ve tried similar colored blushes a few years ago because she said it was a universal shade, no, it is not. Still love her, not my kind of thing.

  • Deborah

I just purchased the eyeshadow collection at Ulta and was given a free sample of ” fierce as fire”. On the back of the pallet it lists the ingredients for each color, but it doesn’t tell you if it is a blush, eyeshadow, highlight etc. Does anyone know,?

    • Saoirse

I had the same feeling! I think the four large shades are for cheeks and the small shades in the center are for eyes.
