Tom Ford Lost Cherry Virginal References Aside Please Give Birth To All Things Red and Luscious

Tom Ford Lost Cherry Eau de Parfum ($320) launched today and I really need to smell it ASAP. That is if I can get past the name….! We all have our beef with inappropriate makeup products. Kat Von D’s Underage Red was the topic of hot debate a year or so not to mention NARS Orgasm and Deep Throat, and Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. Not to mention any number of Urban Decay Eyeshadow names…! Sex and beauty seem to go hand in hand it seems.

It’s no great surprise that Tom Ford named his latest fragrance Lost Cherry. Tom Ford and sex are synonymous, they just go together like peanut and jelly! Just take a look at any number of his adverts not to mention the man himself is sex personified. If only I was a gay man.

Name aside I feel a trend in the air lately don’t you? Everything cherry seems to be a thing in the beauty world and I love that. Urban Decay Naked Cherry, Bobbi Brown’s new Infra-Red Eyeshadow Palette. Yes, I’m seeing a trend and I hope Lost Cherry will give birth more perfumes that contain luscious red cherry notes because if nothing else cherry can be a very sexy note!

This is actually a gourmand which is a rarity in the Tom Ford Private Blends Collection in my opinion. According to first impressions around the Internet this starts out with a big blast of a tart cherry note and softens to a velvety wood with notes of rose, jasmine, and tonka! I don’t typically like oud fragrances but this sounds terribly sexy!

I REALLY need to get to Nordstrom and smell this!

Has anyone yet?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. It’s funny, for all Tom Ford’s alleged sexiness, he himself has always struck me as asexual.

This one goes beyond my personal tacky name limits (orgasm: fine, who cares; deep throat: no way, no how), price limits and the fact that Tom Ford perfumes, like Aerin Lauder perfumes all turn to poop on my skin. Literally, like a full diaper.

But a cherry fruit note sounds amazing. Report back when you’ve smelled it!

omg no really!? that’s so sad! Body chemistry is a weird thing! Will do! headed to Nordstrom tonight!

Literally cannot wait to hear your review of the scent! You and I have similar tastes in fragrances and I am intrigued by this one. Definitely please report back!

I am very intrigued by it too! It’s quite different for TF in my opinion! I can’t wait to smell it! Will def report back if you smell it before me lmk! ;D

I’m sorry to be the rain cloud on the parade, but marketing has gone and lost its damn mind with this name and design of the fragrance packaging. It’s actually grossing me out and now I’m glad I never spent a red cent (ha) on any of Tom Ford’s frickin’ overpriced makeup. I’m by no means a prude. I don’t have a problem with sex or sensuality. But these marketing tactics are just getting so old and tired and really downright trashy. It’s tacky and I am all set. I’m looking for the makeup community to bring a little more class back to its sass.

I’m dying to hear your impression of the scent of this one. My dream is to be able to blind buy, but at these prices…that’s a nope with nope sauce. Sigh. Maybe this will inspire a trend. Here’s hoping.

    • Isabella Muse

I tried saks, nordstrom, and a few other stores nothing yet sadly! I think I might be forced into that blind buy if it doesn’t pop up soon! Everyone is describing it as amazing so maybe it’ll be a great blind buy but, yeah, at these prices, who wants to chance that!

      • K8

“Pop” up haha I haven’t seen it yet either! And Tom Ford I either love or hate so I can’t blind buy either. Will keep checking back for your review!

haha gotta get those sex references in where we can ;-D I’m the same. Tom Ford was always a massive miss for me but I started wearing TV and suddenly I was like ok, I want to explore more and I found SL and FV, and a slew of others I actually liked! I think lost cherry seems like a keeper but the oud/woodsy note worries me so def gotta try before the big buy! 😀

It smells divine but not sure if I can lay a couple bills down for it 🙁 any musings for a dupe yet?

      • D Stewart

DUA Fragrances has a dupe called Popped Cherry. It’s supposed to be great. I just ordered it since I wanted TF Lost Cherry, and couldn’t get it because it was sold out everywhere. Hilde Soliani has a cherry perfume. The name escapes me. It smells amazing and I like it but it seems to dissipate quickly. I think that’s all I have for dupes.

I saw an advert for this in the Qatari airport of all places. Why are we still ok with fetishizing female virginity?
