About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Hey Muse, so I need some help I’ve been jotting down the sale items and some things I would not normally try but on sale it’s ok. Can you explain the difference between the liquid glitter (like Stila), glitter eyegloss, glitter pigment and glitter toppers and which ones need a special base to hold them on. I was in my local CVS and saw a bunch of NYX and Milani a line called Metallic Lights Pearl Liquid Eyeshadow. I wear contacts so I’m always concerned about flecks of glitter fall out. I heard Mac has a line and also Pur Cosmetics pigment. Also what is the best way to apply them? Thanks!

that’s a really hard question haha because everyone’s formula is different! like Stila shimmer & glow is sparkly, more glitter, sheerer and the glitter & glow is more of a cream eyeshadow. Thicker, creamier, shimmer but lots more pigment compared to the Shimmer * glow formula. I’m not sure on the NYX as I haven’t tried those yet. The Milani ones are toppers as those were much sheerer when I tried them and worked best on top of powder. Also, the MAC are sheerer than Stila’s formula and more of a topper. I typically swipe on with the applicator and blend with my finger. I don’t use any brushes for application! It’s just easy to pat and blend on my lid with my finger! No special technique. Does this help!?

Absolutely! It’s just so much out thereally it’s difficult to tell if it’s an innovative new product or a competitive product of something that already exists but they can’t use the same name or description. Thanks so much

tell me about it! Right now I don’t think anything rivals Stila or Jordana in terms of texture. I really like those two best!
