Sometimes I Buy Presents for Myself and Other People at Sephora

I was compensated by a brand or company but all thoughts and opinions are my own and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Ok, who’s guilty of the buy a gift for a friend and get one for yourself syndrome? I’ll fess up and admit that I do this! It’s a really expensive and bad habit but I have no regrets haha…!

As you may know I was waffling on my decision to purchase the Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette. It looked like some of the shades in the palette wouldn’t quite work out for my skin tone. I was concerned they would look a bit chalky on me. I did however, end up purchasing one at Sephora.com for a friend recently and after seeing it in person I was all, “Oh my God! I need this!” Turns out the palette is more of a dusky rose gold selection of shades that totally work out well for me. I love, love, love this range of shades! I’m wearing it in my look below. The palette has some fantastic gel-based glitters that really add a festive finish to my eye looks! I’m so obsessed with glitter I’ll be happily using this well into Spring! I’m loving all the dusky rose shades! I think my friend I’m gifting it to is going to love it (I know I’m loving it). If you were hesitating on this one I’d say go for it! It’s gorgeous! I’ll have a more detailed review shortly!

Of course, any trip to Sephora automatically means I’m gifting stuff to myself and most importantly to the few friends that I have who enjoy beauty because most of my friends and family aren’t terribly into makeup and beauty but I’m lucky enough to have a few who are. This makes gifting fun for me because who doesn’t love shopping for new makeup? So, what have I picked up this year to gift myself and others?

Perhaps too much! What about you?

Aside from the Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette I’m also gifting the new Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in FU$$Y. I promise I wasn’t greedy! I didn’t get one for myself but that might not last as damn, that color is gorgeous!

I also picked up the new Glow Recipe Avocado Sleeping Mask for a skincare junkie friend of mine. And yes, that one did end up in my cart. I mean, worst case scenario if it doesn’t work for me I might be able to eat it on some toast right? No but seriously, this one is getting some great raves for moisturizing skin overnight and leaving duller skin brighter and happier come the AM. I packaged this gift up with the new Glamglow Good in Bed Passionfruit Softening Night Cream (and yes, that one I got for myself too) which is a new exfoliating night cream that gently resurfaces skin and hydrates it as you sleep. Yes, please! Winter dry skin be gone!

There’s so much goodness at Sephora lately my debit card is burning up!

What beauty presents are you gifting this year and perhaps hoping to get (or maybe you already purchased them for yourself)?

Do share!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I wouldn’t say I’m in the “one for you, one for me” mode, but I’ve definitely been adding stuff to my cart as I’m shopping for someone else. LOL! Budget, what budget? Buy everything!

    • Isabella Muse

I don’t do that. Never. I mean, sometimes I do but not always…LOL! I’m guilty very guilty when I’m buying something for my sis I end up buying it for myself too! Like one year, I got her this gorgeous coat and I loved it so much I had to get it for me too lol! Sad to say we showed up wearing it one day at the same time and looked like idiots ;-D BUY ALL THE THINGS!

Lucky for me I have completely different style and tastes from my sisters and friends. It’s usually the other way around: they’ll buy something for me and end up buying the same thing for themselves because it’s so preeeety, even if it’s not their style. LOL! What can I say, I’m inspiring! Hahaha!

LOL!!!!!! Hey, as far as I’m concerned the to me from me gifts are the best hehe! Haha! They just want to be like you! ;-D

I got the huda beauty new nudes during the 20% off sale thanks to you and the comments on the nars palette post. I’ve been wearing it ever since! For the first time I have made an actual nude look as the peach and pinks make me look like I have depth to my eyelids without the shadows I usually get with browns. My whole face is brighter. Anyway thanks for the guidance!
