Sometimes You Have Dry Lips and Those Times You’ll Want Trader Joe’s Lip Treatment Duo Around

Trader Joe’s Lip Treatment Duo Lip Scrub and Lip Balm (with Sunscreen) ($3.99) is around to get you through the cold, harsh Winter ahead my dear friends! Trader Joe’s actually a mecca for cutesy beauty picks ups lately from cleansing oil to facial masks and even body lotions and potions they have been very quietly expanding their little beauty section and offering up cheap, inexpensive, yet really fun and effective picks that are perfect stocking stuffers.

While heading out to Trader Joe’s this week to stockpile Jingle Jangle (no, not the Riverdale drug but probably more addicting) I decided I’d pick up a few of these little Lip Treatment Duos for stocking stuffers and of course, one for myself.

They actually aren’t a new product as I tried one last year but I’m not sure if they are seasonal as since that time I never did see it again at my local TJ’s (until recently)!

The duo consists of a two 0.25 oz tubes of citrus flavored lip scrub and lip balm with an SPF 15. These are made with a mix of jojoba oil, shea, and macadamia oil. I actually quite like the duo but the SPF 15 factor is pointless for me as I find the texture of the lip balm is very thick and works best as a night treatment versus wearing out and about.

The scrub is quite gently yet effective at removing dry, flaky skin (which my lips are incredibly prone to) and slathering on the lip balm right after keeps them smooth and chap-free.

It’s a nice little duo to grab up at the price if you have drier lips and just need a quickie lip balm and scrub to treat your dry lips!

Get it at Trader Joe’s now.

I purchased this item.

Thank you for your review! Have been curious about trying a lip scrub, my lips have been peeling quite a bit. By any chance do you know if the Trader Joes brand lip treatment due is cruelty free? Thanks again!

Sadly, I’m not sure! The box does not say that so I think it might be safe saying it isn’t cruelty free sadly. Sorry my dear!

ps with the values TJs has it does surprise me! If you contact them or tweet/message them via FB I’m sure they can confirm!

Oh, thank you very much! I was thinking the same about Trader Joe’s own brand’s products, that they’re geared to people interested in natural, vegan products, so figured they would be cruelty free.

Did a bit of digging, Trader Joe’s is certified by PETA, and has the cruelty free bun bun logo, they’re also not 100% vegan. They’ve confirmed to Cruelty-Free Kitty that they don’t test on animals during the production of products nor do they sell them where animal testing is required by law.

This is great, it’s always nice to be able to have more cruelty free options available, and I hope to continue see that area grow and made more affordable.

My TJ Ho-dom is equal or greater than my Nars Ho-dom. But remember that TJ does not actually do much mfging themselves. They buy these from a supplier. Preferably a natural and US supplier. Their values ARE pretty good, and they are pretty transparent, so I’m surprised CF status is not listed. But if Calbee does not make their Inner Peas, I’ll never nosh them again. Identical. Even the packaging is very similar. I think the manufacturer is proprietary knowledge: a family owned tiny high altitude Greek olive orchard…you know the copy…it’s as distinctive as Peterman’s. They never say our salt water taffy is manufactured by XYZ in Atlantic City, NJ, home to the original taffy works.

Love this little duo. I like how it smells like oranges, I can’t get enough. I so appreciate Trader Joe’s for simple products that don’t cost an arm and a leg. I’m also a huge fan of the hair mask and hair serum that smell like coconut and vanilla.
