5 stars out of 5

Essence Insta-Care Lipstick ($3.49) is a new buttery, hydrating lipstick that launched in six shades for Spring 2019. You can ALWAYS count on Essence to create some awesome lipstick that’ll cost you less than five bucks and that’s the case with these new Insta-Care Lipsticks.

I stupidly ordered one shade but I NEED ALL THE SHADES ASAP!

Essence Insta-Care Lipstick is 0.06 oz and comes housed in a swivel up slim line barrel. This is formulated with shea butter and I’d go so far as to call it a hybrid lip balm/lip treatment and lipstick all-in-one formula. It has the moisturizing elements of a lip balm or a lip treatment and the color of a lipstick which means you get the best of both worlds.

This formula is a soft, buttery texture that has a slightly slick texture and an easy glide on lips with a smooth finish on my dry lips. It’s very moisturizing and feels quite hydrating through the 3 and half hour wear time I got from it. The color I choose provided opaque coverage on a single application and didn’t feather or migrate through the wear. They do have some sort of fruity perfume flavor but I didn’t detect a fragrance.

Essence Sandy Sunrise Insta-Care Lipstick

Essence Insta-Care Lipstick Swatches (Sandy Sunrise)

The texture is just heavenly on my dry lips and the color is gorgeous. I picked up Sandy Sunrise which is a nude caramel tan that gave my lips a great nude look without making me look like a zombie.

All in all, Essence Insta-Care Lipstick is delightful and such a great beauty budget pick!

Muse Approved.

I saw these on the Ulta site and thought they might be awesome but didn’t want to take the chance blindly. Thanks for letting us know they are worth ordering.

totally worth it. I need to order the other shades! Love the formula!

Thanks for the upvote on this formula. Being old, tend to prefer sheer or buttery l/s to gloss. Still haven’t tried Essence, but like Catrice. So, maybe another Cosnova, to go w/ my other Cos’s: Cosdna and Cosrx. Maybe i’ll Wait for a sale and grab their green HL. I don’t see big money for HL, anyway. Essence has a greige l/s on my backburner, as well.

Sandy Sunrise looks cute on you! I am always on the search for a nude that does not make my lips blend into my face, and I find your swatches are so helpful such that, if it looks good on your skin, the undertones will work well on my face. The swatch for this reads glitter particles on my screen, but I do not see glitter on your lips. This has been added to my try list, thank you!

Thanks Nnah! Likewise! Nudes are tricky for me and sometimes I end up looking deathly in them! But this has a nice warmth that made it very wearable for me! No glitter, shimmer, just cream 🙂 sorry the lights from my lightbox make it look like there’s glitter in the swatch! My pleasure <3!
