Sephora Stacking Coupon Codes and Combining Promotions

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Starting today you can stack coupons and combine promotional discounts at Sephora.com. Thank the makeup gods! I grabbed up some of the Reward Bazaar Gift Cards in exchange for some of my Rouge Points back in the Fall and I was hanging on to the gift cards in the hopes of using them during the Sephora 20% Off Sale. Imagine my dismay when I found out I couldn’t combine the 20% Off discount with the gift card. I was rather pissed off about it.

Now MAYBE I can do that! Starting today Sephora has announced on their community forums you’ll start seeing multiple promo code fields. The feature is not yet live but I imagine around 12 PM EST it will be. This is great if you have a few different codes you want to combine on check out.

Sadly, as with all things Sephora does there are some stipulations that haven’t really be revealed yet. According to them this feature is only allowed for certain promo codes and “not all promotions will be combinable and each promotion will have different rules, including whether or not it can be combined with other promotions.”

Considering how crummy Sephora is with their “rules and regulations” I do worry that means those gift card rewards likely won’t be eligible for combining with any other codes. I guess the fact WE MIGHT be able to stack certain promo codes is exciting I just hope it doesn’t come along with too many rules otherwise it’ll be pointless.

Are you excited about the potential of combining promo codes at Sephora.com?

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. Well, I’m not sure… In theory, it sounds good, but unless you have a gift card (which I never do) what codes could you stack? Maybe I’m just being dense (*always* a possibility!) but I’m trying to think when Sephora has multiple codes that could be stacked… Are there others? Or is this just smoke and mirrors to make them sound good?

at the moment there are a few promo codes circulating. GOBIG or GOBAG which is a sample bag and there’s also SURPRISE which gets you a pick of a deluxe sample and a few other ones. Not sure if they can be stacked but we shall see!

It’s a great idea but once I read that there will be stipulations, I kinda rolled my eyes. Once again we have to jump through hoops to get what we want.

That’s good news! It’ll be nice to use the 20% off code during sales and use a code for the deluxe samples. Believe it or not, sometimes I do want some of the samples that aren’t convenient to get in stores.

it’s about time! I hate that I can’t get a free gift with code when I am trying to use a discount code.
what if u have a discount code AND your total is more than $25 or $35, you should still be able to use the free gift with purchase codes.

    that was always annoying!

good luck everyone! can’t wait to hear what you get! lol

I’m not expecting much (then again I never do from Sephora). This is done in the guise of giving us something but in reality it probably amounts to nothing. They will probably have so many rules about it you’ll just wind up with an extra vial of crap perfume or a packet sample of something that is probably useless.

I’d wager my Pat lipsticks that the GCs redeemed though points will NOT be stackable. We have the fall/holiday example as a precedent. Certain that GCs will only be redeemable for full price merch, and possibly for things on the sales page, but not able to be combined with a %.

I imagine a lot of this will just be stacking brand-based freebies with store-based freebies. For example: buy an Aerin fragrance, use the code to get the Aerin sample set, and still be able to use a code for a sample bag or whatever Sephora’s offering.

That’s actually been a big part of why I don’t buy fragrance from Sephora unless it’s an exclusive: they require a promo code for something you’d get free at Nordstrom/Macy’s/etc. and I never want to “waste” a code.

I wonder if this will happen in Canada? I’ll have to check it out and I won’t hold my breath, it is Sephora after all.
