The Ordinary is Back at Sephora

The Ordinary is back at Sephora today! I was expecting some news of The Ordinary finally launching at Ulta but surprise, surprise it’s back and in stock at sephora.com! Brandon is still practicing his special brand of weird on Instagram but it’s under his personal account now and the reins of Deciem have been handed over to Nicola Kilner. Brandon was fired in October and boy, did that take a hot minute to happen after all his drama and antics across social media particularly Instagram.

The final straw was an Instagram post that Brandon made about shutting down all operations indefinitely and Estee Lauder, who owns 28% of Deciem, wasn’t having any of it and filed a lawsuit against him which they won.

Nicole Kilner has her own drama with Brandon as she was fired by him last year and later re-hired. It’s been a whirlwind year for Deciem! Hopefully 2019, is a good one for them! At least their reintroduction to Sephora will have a lot of people very, very happy.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Not sure how to feel re: this about-face. I think my way-low S intentions will win out, and i’ll source from Beautylish. They are better informed than Sephora and have better CS, probably a greater selection of Deciem than S. Never saw any Ordinary live at S. Did you ever try the Fractionated Eye from Deciem?

    • Isabella Muse

I completely agree about Beautylish! Excellent CS when you want info about combining products from the line! I have it, haven’t used it yet! Niod has some extreme discounts around November and it was one of them which drove me up a wall since I paid full price!

I may have memory problems, but i’ll remember the November tip. Thanks. I want to try that one. Does S have all all Deciem, or just the Ordinary? Review fractionated, when you can. Unless it’s high niacinamide, I forget.

I just can’t muster any excitement for this. Mainly because I tried quite a few of their products when they first launched at Sephora and I didn’t like any of them. I still have nightmares about their niacinimide’s burning sensation lol. I suppose I’ll wait until all of these “new” products they are creating come out and see if anything is better.

Huh. I just got the niacinamide from them and am having no issues. But if it’s unscented and has no silicones I tend to have few issues. I like the brand but I think it’s been overhyped.
