5 stars out of 5

It Cosmetics Heavenly Skin 2-in-1 Tape & Smooth Brush No. 706 ($15) is a new dual-sided brush that’s exclusively for use with your favorite eye cream. Yup, a brush to apply eye cream! I have two fingers do I really need a brush to apply eye cream? Apparently I do! I thought this was a gimmick when first launched but I purchased it anyway as I thought it would make for a silly and fun review. Turn out I ended up loving it.

Go figure.

It Cosmetics Heavenly Skin 2-in-1 Tape & Smooth Brush is a dual-sided tool which contains a flat brush head on one side to scoop out and gently smooth on eye cream. The other side has a rounded, cooling aventurine stone which can be gently rolled under your eyes to reduce puffiness while helping to complete absorb eye cream.

I started using this with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG, Etude House Pure Drop Genie Multi Oil, and Dr Gross Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum. These are all thinner and runnier serums and I felt like the brush would make for less of a mess during application plus the stone would allow them to absorb more fully.

I was right. Where as before during application these would sort of drip down my face as I applied and patted them into place the brush and the stone helped minimize this and also, my under eye area was less dewy and wet as the stone allowed the serum to completely absorb.

After washing the brush and stone I decided to move on to creams and again I had great success. I don’t like touching my eye creams and prefer scooping them out with a little spatula. I was able to forgo that and just dip the brush in and smooth it under my eyes. It actually felt like the brush was more gentle than my fingers! After I swiped on the cream it obviously wasn’t fully absorbed but I could easily just reverse the brush and start gently rolling the stone under my eyes to get all the eye cream absorbed. The rolling motion will also help any water you might be retaining under your eyes and perhaps reduce the appearance of puffiness. I know in my case my eye bags are just there! They aren’t going anywhere! But if you do retain water you have a fairly good chance of rolling it away using this.

Count me shocked. This seemed like a gimmick in all honesty but it turned into a rather handy little tool!

I’m Muse Approving this little guy! Well worth a pick up!

It Cosmetics Heavenly Skin 2-in-1 Tape & Smooth Brush is a new dual-ended tool created for use with eye creams or serum. One side of this tool has a small brush which can be used to swipe eye cream gently under eyes and the reverse side has a rounded, cooling aventurine stone which can be gently rolled under your eyes for quicker absorption of eye cream or to gently massage away eye bags or puffiness. It sounds super cool, but would you wash your brush after each use? Otherwise, it seems no different putting the brush into the product, putting the product on your face with the brush, then putting the brush back into the product. Same cross-contamination as using your fingers, no?

I do. I’m anal! I won’t dip back into my eye cream with a dirty brush.
