Sephora Credit Card Is Coming Soon! Will You Apply For It?

A Sephora Credit Card is arriving in a few short weeks! Do you think you’ll apply for one? Sephora Credit Card, Sephora Visa Credit Card, and Sephora Visa Signature Credit Card are supposed to be available this Spring that will apparently have rewards attached to them with purchases made using your new card! The exact reward information hasn’t been released as of yet but Andrea Zaretsky, Sephora Vice President of Customer Relations was quoted saying the following, “The Sephora Credit Card was the natural next step in our loyalty journey, truly adding even more value that our clients can use not only within our stores, but also in their day-to-day lives. The launch of the Sephora Credit Card exemplifies Sephoras loyalty philosophy in every sense; it considers all the most-loved aspects of Sephora “ the amazing product, services, experiences and personalization “ taking our client experience to the next level through special access, rewards and perks.”

At the moment Ulta’s Credit Card has an excellent reward program attached to it and I’m not sure Sephora can technically beat what they currently offer. But we’ll see because if there are cash rewards or even discounts available I’ll be the first in line to sign up!

Do you think the Sephora Credit Card will have a great rewards program attached to it?

Will you apply for it?

NO NO NO NO NO! haha! I just paid off my Ulta card and I’m never using it again! hehe

I’m not sure, it depends on the APR with the different levels and I almost don’t trust myself. It would be so easy to spend $500 at Sephora and I know I wouldn’t pay that off in 30 days. I doubt I would use it for groceries or gas etc because the bonus points probably come with purchases made in store or online. I’m curious to hear the details and if they will look at your status (VIB, Rouge etc) to decide who to offer or pre-approve certain members, certain cards. JCP card can be used at Sephora in store and online and get double points already.

Well. It depends on the rewards that are offered. I think I have around 35 CC now. I have enough. No, I don’t carry balances on them and I keep them in a ziplock bag. I Only carry a few cc at once. And frankly, if I spend more than a grand at Sephora, I will feel like I have problems. No offense to you. You’re a blogger.

Btw, long time lurker. I’m just now starting to comment. 😉

I don’t carry CCs at all either. Only when I go on vacation and those are “just in case”. I have a debit card I use. If I don’t have money to buy it, I’m not buying it on credit….! CCs are dangerous. And if I do use them I don’t carry a balance. You’re smart! keep them in the ziplock bag ;-D Nice to meet you btw ;-D glad you decided to comment today!

I’m so in love with the ULTA rewards program; I can’t imagine Sephora offering anything that will tempt me away. I use my Ultamate MasterCard for *everything*, and rack up points at an average of 300-500 every month. Just for buying things I would anyway (groceries, gasoline, etc). Unless Sephora starts making their points actually *worth* something, I will avoid purchasing anything but exclusives from them. And it does give me an evil little thrill, paying for my Sephora purchases with my ULTA credit card.

  • Cindy

Nope! I’m sure Sephora won’t offer anything beyond their crappy point rewards program and the CC will just give you an opportunity to get more points for . . . For what exactly?? Tiny samples that should be free to begin with? Big reward point sets (that don’t really exist because they “sell out” in 2 minutes??). No thanks Sephora, I’ll stick with Ulta where cash rewards are king!!

    • Wendy Sue

even if you have points to spend, they never have any rewards that are actually in stock. I’m pretty much done at Sephora. I will only shop there is they have something I can’t live without and Ulta doesn’t carry it.

I am interested in it but I want to see the details first before I pull the trigger. If it gets me better rewards and discounts then yes I’ll probably get it
Although I still may not if it has a high APR. Because I too am sometimes not disciplined enough to pay off right away and i know how much interest can creep up and kill you because I work for a financial institution! haha
And from the previous comments it sounds like Ulta’s card is superior anyway – at least for now. and I don’t have that one…

  • Michelle

No. Not interested in applying for any more credit from anyone. I don’t care what they offer.

  • Jordana

My kids get a huge kick out of my paying with my Ulta Mastercard when I shop in SiJCP and I’m triple-dipping (Ulta, Sephora, JCP rewards). I don’t know… double points on everything at Ulta with its card is great and Sephora would have to do *much* better than that, given the huge discrepancy in what I can do with my points at the two stores. Accumulating points to get junk that I get as freebies… not so much worth it. That said, when they offer it, I’m not so sure I’ll be able to say no!

  • courtney

I am definitely curious about it. I like to think of myself as someone that would spend modestly on makeup at Sephora, like i do now, if i got this card. I think depending on if there’s any special incentives or additional perks, that will be the deciding factor whether I get one or not…. but my standards are high, so this card will have to truly wow me to consider getting it. I cant wait for the fine print and reading materials on the card.

Well it seems they are trying to copy Ulta. Unless they offer a similar rewards program then there would be no reason to get one of these. Like everyone else said, if they just give you points then big whoop. I’ve written off Sephora anyway. We got divorced 2 years ago and I have no regrets. Ulta’s points system is the best there is…and I don’t have their CC either because it would be too tempting to overspend with the mindset: “hey I can get points for this”. But I still manage to rack up enough points on my own to get some nice stuff.
It will at least be interesting to see what rewards they are going to offer.

    • Denise

The thing I like best about the Ultamate MasterCard is that I get one point for every three dollars spent *outside* ULTA. So I can use it to buy stuff I’d need to buy anyway, like groceries and gas. I don’t need to buy stuff I don’t need to get points. In December my dogs needed 3K of dental work- that’s 1000 points ($50)!

  • Terri Wells

Nah, not tempted at all. I try to buy everything I can at Ulta. Can’t beat their rewards.

  • Michele Zundell

I am intrigued by this and might apply for a card. One option sounds like a credit card that can only be used in Sephora stores or online. I am curious about the other 2 cards. What will the difference be between the Sephora Signature Visa card and the Sephora Visa? They are both Visas, and I assume you could use both cards to make purchases in places other than Sephora so why have 2 versions? Maybe more perks? Maybe one card will have an annual fee and one will not? Questions, questions! 🙂 Hopefully, more deets will be available soon.

    • Isabella Muse

Not sure! Not much info is yet available but I’ll def let you know as soon as Sephora sends out official info 😀

  • Joanna Mccloud

I’d like one because I have ulta but where both stores sell the same items I usually get them from ulta cause I get cash off like nice cash off 30 to 40 dollars and most times its money to be used like cash I’m not sure sephora wants to compete with that I’m here if they do.
