I Can Get Behind the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea High Tides & Good Vibes Eyeshadow Palette

Did you see the new Tarte Rainforest of the Sea High Tides & Good Vibes Eyeshadow Palette yet? It’s gorgeous. Tarte, finally you’re getting it right! Some people will hate the glitter aspect but I’m all about it. If you recall the Tarte Foil Finger Paints Shadow Palette was a success for me so, I have high hope that the glittery shades in the Rainforest of the Sea High Tides & Good Vibes Eyeshadow Palette are the same formula!

This palette contains eight creamy powder shadows and four glitter toppers. Some of the promotional image looks they created using it are gorgeous! I’m also loving the fact it’s not yet another nude palette. This is pack with some gorgeous blues, aquas, and teals! I think most people have wanted shades like this since Tarte punk’ed during April Food’s Day and said they were launching an “Icy Betch” Palette that contained all blue and aqua shades.

Granted this palette doesn’t contain all blues it still looks like it pops!

Shades include:

  • Buried Gold (champagne shimmer)
  • Beach Therapy (matte tan)
  • Aloha, Beaches (matte cinnamon)
  • Galapagos (brown shimmer)
  • Beach Daze (pink glitter)
  • Champagne Beach (gold glitter)
  • Aquaholic (teal glitter)
  • Turtlette (silver glitter)
  • South Beach (matte melon)
  • Surfs Up (matte aqua)
  • Dive In (deep teal shimmer)
  • Deep Blue (cobalt shimmer)

The palette is rather nicely priced at $39 and yes, I did order it.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea High Tides & Good Vibes Eyeshadow Palette is available now!

How do you feel about this one?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. This looks very pretty. However, I do not like using my fingers to apply eyeshadow. I also just ordered the ABH Riviera palette yesterday. Maybe I will wait for your review and swatches.

Pretty palette, but what’s with these awful unblended promo looks?

    • Isabella Muse

haha on the models you mean? Looks like they are untouched, which I appreciate, but for some reason it is making the models look bad!

  • Dot

This is so pretty, but I think I read somewhere the glitters are a gel formula”I’m worried they would dry out in a palette! 🙁

I want this! I was wary buying tarte’s Foil Finger Paints Shadow Palette as well (I did it on a whim because of love the Rainforest of the Sea collection) but like you said, mine has held up (I need to use it more). Additionally, it lasts almost as long on me over primer as powdered shadows (hooded eyes and I typically avoid cream shadows like the plague) AND applied fine with either my synthetic- or natural-haired brushed. Fingers crossed it is the same formula because it’s literally the only cream shadow that I own and I love it.

    • Isabella Muse

I was too but I actually loved it. I’d like to see Tarte do more like it! Hopefully this is formulated as well! ;D

I got so psyched by the Icy Betch AFD post, that I got the Sydney Grace No Joke bundle. Now, i’m Spiraling down the Sydney Grace Rabbit Hole. At warp speed. I like all of this. It’s like an exploded, more versatile UD Beached. Fun. I think this one is easy to read/combine/use, and would make a great gift. AFD taught Tarte a lesson, that they def have learned. (Yay.) Who’d a thunk it?

you’re my advocate for SG! I need to try them ASAP with all these raves!

Muse, I started with their Autumn Reign palette and fell in love. I’ve since bought their 3 eyeshadow bundles and a couple blushes and a few highlighters (haven’t had a chance to try them yet). Normally hate products that come in only the pan/singles necessitating the need for a magnetic freeform palette to house them but SG shadows are THAT good.

Side note: I found eBay sellers that sell empty generic magnetic palettes that have holes/compartments so you can pop your 26 mm eyeshadows into the holes like a regular pre-made palette in either 12 or 15 pans. I also think I saw one that had inserts for bigger pans like blushes.

        • Isabella Muse

oh no I feel a haul coming on lol! thanks for the rec on the magnetic palettes ;-D I’m heading over to the sight now wish me luck EEP!

South Beach looks a bit like a blush shade. I think I could squeeze my blush brush into that space for it, ay? I am here for the blue shades! For $39, I’ll be waiting for it to go on sale, but I am happy to be seeing blue for Spring/Summer instead of copper, orange, red, pink…

I picked one up yesterday and I only messed around with it a little bit.

The glitter shades do not swatch well at all so I have no idea how they got those perfect swatches in those promo videos.

I want to use aquaholic as a fun glitter liner and I have figured out how to make that work with great results. I just did my liner as a guide, go over it with my tartiest pro lash glue, than use a liner brush to scoop up some glitter and apply it to the tacky glue. I dabbed it to remove access glitter and brushed away strays.

Super cute compact and looks great next to last springs mermaid shell compact.

    • Isabella Muse

oh no! really? I got mine the other day but didn’t mess with it yet. I am super impressed with the compact. It’s quite weighty!

Muse, wanted to let you know, I got a chance to play with it this weekend. Not the same formula as the Finger Paints, its straight glitter in a gel (similar to the split pan in Finger Paints but not the same) not metallic cream. I had to pat on but it did let me build a second layer to be more opaque (the first layer only looked like scattered top coat). There was fallout but it was chunky so I just picked it off or used tape. Lasted about 11 hours on me over primer (hooded oily lids). My second attempt at trying them worked better than the first so there’s a learning curve. I do like it though but I am a biased glitter lover and I don’t like playing with loose glitter, hehe.

    • Isabella Muse

I played with it too and was crushed. It’s hard to get on my lid well! I ended up with a ton of fall out! 🙁 Too bad it isn’t like finger paints 🙁
