4 stars out of 5

TonyMoly Piglet Pink Perfect Eyes Mood Eyeshadow Palette is a limited edition Chinese New Year Spring 2019 release that I purchased about two months ago or so. This is actually been comforting me while I still mourn the fact that I haven’t yet decided if I want to haul the Innisfree x Toy Story Rosy Piggy Palette. I’ve been waffling on purchasing that palette for several weeks now and I know I’m going to have to make a choice before it disappears forever. The entire Innisfree x Toy Story launch was adorable but I’m a little concerned Hamm’s Eyeshadow Palette will be some sort of chalky mess.

Anyway…..!

As I mope over these thigns I can say that I’ve been using and loving TonyMoly Piglet Pink Perfect Eyes Mood Eyeshadow Palette. It’s probably one of my favorite pink eyeshadow palettes of the moment. Granted, it’s going to win any awards in the pigment department but it creates some really fresh, fun Spring eye looks and that’s all I could want or ask for.

TonyMoly Piglet Pink Perfect Eyes Mood is a cute little square palette that contains nine eyeshadows that are about the size of a dime. The total size of the palette is 0.29 oz so, it’s not a lot of eyeshadow you’re getting here but I’m fine with that. It comes in a cute pink box with a tiny little big decorating the upper right hand side. The palette itself is pink with a bronze-y gold mirrored background that the eyeshadows sit on. It’s a pretty cute presentation as typically Perfect Eyes Mood Palettes are a simple black affair unless they are seasonal or limited edition. It’s very much the same shape and size as the Etude House Pink Skull Color Eyes Palettes.

Oddly enough this isn’t really a completely pink palette but more of a peachy gold pink one. The color assortment ranges from soft peachy shades to golds browns, plumps, and lighter and deeper pinks as an after thought. When I had purchased this Spring was pretty far from my mind but now that the weather is breaking I’m really loving the eye looks I can easily create from these shades!

The shades are satin, sparkle, or matte in finish. They layer together rather brilliantly. For example, for my look here I used the soft beige (first shade first row) all over my eye up to the brow bone with the softer peachy pink (third shade first row) all over my eye up to the crease and followed up by using the darker pink (middle shade third row) on my lid and blending it into that softer peachy pink. After I patted on a little of the brassy gold (middle shade second row) and blended a tiny bit of the plummy shade (first shade third row) into the v of my eye and BOOM! Instant cute eye look. The addition of the gold sparkle gives the shades a sheer golden sheen.

As I said above this palette isn’t going to win any major awards for pigment. The shadows are soft and silky but they can be a little sheer and do requiring building. They are also best applied with a sponge eyeshadow applicator! But I’ve never been one to shy away from Korean eyeshadows and I actually like the soft, sheer factor as I can easily create looks without overdoing things since I tend to be very heavy handed with make. This formula prevents me from getting too crazy. I gave it generous 4 rating when in reality it probably deserves a 2 or a 3. But I think the colors just jive so well together you’ll likely love it if you’re one that enjoys Korean eyeshadows!

Makeup should be fun and the TonyMoly Piglet Pink Perfect Eyes Mood for me is all kinds of fun! I’m having a blast with this palette and it’ll happily follow me into Spring to create some pretty looks!

Where to buy

E-bay

TonyMoly Piglet Pink Perfect Eyes Mood is a new, limited edition 9-pan eyeshadow palette that launched earlier this year to celebrate the Chinese New Year. It arrived at just the perfect time with Valentine’s Day in the air and Spring soon after. It contains a cooler selection of pinks combined with some pretty golds, plums, and peaches. The formula and texture of the eyeshadows is soft and silky but pigmentation runs sheerer and colors do need to be built up! If you don’t mind this, I would say pick it up especially if you like fresh, easy to apply eyeshadows that create cute Spring looks!

Pros

  • Creates fresh, cute looks!
  • Affordable.

Cons

  • Sheerer formula.
  • Not a completely pink palette, runs more peachy!

It actually reminds me of the MAC mini 9 palettes. The colour story reminds of their peachy palette last year.

I totally forgot about the Innisfree palette and remember wanting it when I first saw it pop up. I still want it, actually, but I’m afraid that all the colours are pretty much going to look the same on me because they look the same on arm swatches I’ve seen. LOL! I’m all for buying similar colors that might be cooler/warmer and having different textures, but the palette as a whole looks similar.

Me too! I was scared colors would run together and also, it looked chalky! Wasn’t so sure on the blushes either but I still sort of want it! UGH! ;-D

Did our Innisfree stores get it in stock!? I thought I saw something about the hand creams being available in store!

I peeked at the Innisfree, and thin it could be kind of an Asian version of the Huda new nudes. More sheer, less glitter. Probably will kind of run together, but it’s so springy, light, and pretty. Recently added the Innisfree jeju lava seawater skin to my oddball essence or lighter anti-inflam-matory skincare routine, and the rheum/derm said my skin looked great. Hmmm. I like both of these palettes, but have been so good, so far this year…. It can’t last.

Why do you always have your hair covered? I’m not asking to be rude, it’s just something I’ve always wondered.

I typically do my makeup in the morning before I head to work and I snap quick photos in the AM for the blog as well. I like my hair away from my face when I’m at work as it’s really long and really wavy so I slick it into a bun, slap a headband on, and head to work.
