Does Anyone Love Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer As Much As I Do?

5 stars out of 5

I’m prone to dry skin not only my face but all over my body. It’s been pretty tame this Winter though! When the Fall hit I was feeling a bit tight, dry, and itchy but it passed quickly and up until recently things have been going pretty smoothly in my dry skin realm.

However, the weather started to get a little warmer about two weeks ago and suddenly for some unknown reason I started to feel super dry and itchy. And I mean ITCHY! Oh my gosh it was awful. I started slathering on all my lotions and potions but not a lot helped. I also had a really bad red rash on my neck. I actually started getting semi-panicky thinking it was the measles. I’ve had the chicken pox but never the measles. After a quick visit to my dermatologist, who’s 85 years old and quite good at soothing my skin hypochondriasis by telling me how ridiculous I am thinking I have skin cancer from a tiny mole, I was reassured I did not have the measles but just irritated myself by itching my drier skin. And as always, he explained that when I got out of the shower I should apply my body lotion to my wet skin and pat dry and of course, NO steaming hot showers.

This is actually a good technique to use as I find some body lotions can be very heavy and don’t completely absorb when I apply them on my drier skin. Applying them on my wet skin allows the formula to absorb much, much faster. But I actually still struggle with this at times.

That was until started using Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer. Oh my god! This stuff saves my dry skin life.

This formula is really, really quite interesting. The entire idea is as soon as you step out of the shower you apply your moisturizer right onto your wet skin. Don’t dry off! Just step out of the shower, apply Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer, and pat yourself dry. I like the texture of this moisturizer as it has a gel-like texture that absorbs really quickly but that’s not really what impresses me. What impresses me most is the fact it really cures drier skin. I went from literally itching the skin off my body to completely smooth, soft skin. Even the redness I was experiencing around my neck disappeared within a day of using this. It’s not sticky, doesn’t leave a gross film behind, and it has a really subtle fragrance that isn’t overwhelming!

If you have dry, itchy skin this ones for you!

Can’t recommend it enough.

Does anyone else love it as much as I do!?

I’ve never tried these for fear of leaving a bunch of goop on my towels when I dry off. this one’s that good, huh? Well, if it’s good enough for my Muse, then I must try it! Oooo… And I see it comes in the original Cherry Almond scent too! I love that one – maybe just for nostalgia, but I do like it! So – gotta try it!

thanks for ‘nuther lemming, Muse… ;D

    • Isabella Muse

I really doesn’t! I just pat my skin gently! Really doesn’t leave a bunch of gross stuff on the towel or my body for that matter! hahaha yes that cherry almond scents brings back lots of good memories! haha my pleasure <3!

I do! It is my absolute favorite after shower moisturizer. Like you said there is no residue and it just leaves me soft and silky. It is the only thing that helps my dry dry skin.

    • Isabella Muse

YES! me too! 😀 I’ve literally USED everything on the market and this stuff is amazing!

I got a sample size in my Target box but I just can’t get on board with it. I tried

Def will try this. Grew up oily, seldom had to use any moisturizer. Then I got inverse psoriasis, and the whole body chem changed. Dry, but not flaky dry, porous dry, ugh. I have to use an oil sealed with a butter, or everything hurts. Wtf. Every body moisturizer got tossed from disuse up til 2 years ago, and now I order oil and butter 2x a month from Ulta. Double wtf. For the face, had to redo the whole routine from aging/oily/dehydrated to anti-inflammatory. It’s a good thing I had a few important bloggers, Cosdna, EWG, etc to organize my thoughts. It’s more KB than ever, now. Thanks.

I love the Jergen’s Wet Skin self tanner. It is the easiest one I’ve ever used. You use it the same as this lotion and somehow it magically works with the wet skin to build up very natural looking color over a matter of days. And the best part is that it doesn’t streak AT ALL since it’s so easy to glide across your skin. It doesn’t leave any kind of color on my towel and I can get dressed immediately after patting myself dry. I LOVE it!

    • Isabella Muse

I never tried that! I’d be into that for my legs! I’m not a big tanning person but my legs always look dull after the long winter ;-D

I’ve been curious about this for a while – I love the way my skin feels when I use body lotion but it’s a chore to apply, especially in the mornings when I’m always in a hurry. Back in the day, the only thing that was similar was Keri bath oil. It worked very well if you did it the same way, i.e. on wet skin, but of course it left an oily residue if you weren’t careful. I think they still sell it.

    • Isabella Muse

LIKEWISE ITA! I can’t use oils! Hate the residue! This is quick one and done. Absorbs as I pat dry and start getting dressed ;D

I havent bought this but I did buy their wet skin self tanner. Being a sickly pale NW 15 who only burns, doesnt tan, I need all the help I can get. I haven’t tried it yet but you giving this a good review gives me high hopes that their wet tanner is just as good

    • Isabella Muse

Jess read the comments 🙂 someone just said it’s pretty awesome!

  • Onyx

Me! I love that stuff, the coconut is my favorite. I used to use Palmers oil after the shower before I found the Jergens, but I love the lotion so much more than oil. And I love that I can choose a few different scents depending on mood or what perfume I’ll be wearing.

    • Isabella Muse

FOUNDDDD IT 🙂 thanks for commenting and sorry for the delayed reply ;-D

  • Jane

I never have tried any of the “wet” lotions – the idea has always squigged me out. I finally found out that the Aveeno baby exczema therapy absorbs fast enough that I don’t have weird residue.

Annnnnd now you’ve reminded me that I want to get an MMR booster.

    • Isabella Muse

hm got to try the aveeno! maybe it’ll work for me too ;D

  • Onyx

Weird….my comment on this never showed up, but I’m subscribed to the comments on this post already so it must have gone through when I originally made it? Did my support of the Jergens get lost in your moderation inbox?

    • Isabella Muse

No, it’s likely here somewhere 🙂 it just got pushed to the bottom! Sometimes I get too busy and comments pile up! Sorry for the delay! I will find and reply to it right away!!!!!

  • Powell

I have received samples of this three times in my Wal-Mart seasonal boxes and I love it, however I still out on body lotion too because my skin is so dry. I still haven’t purchased the full size.

  • Ray

Yes! And the wet skin tan one is amazing as well. It is forgiving to an extent, the tan does not turn orange if you don’t apply it 3-4 days in a row. 1-2 applications is good for the week and then you can use the lotion version on other days. The self tanner version is the Sam, put on wet skin and pat dry. It does not stain towels at all! Don’t ask me how! They are wonderful and I enjoy Jergens Inwshower much more than curels im shower and I have used their regular version and curels itchy oatmeal version and both are not my faves in comparison to jergans.

You are not alone. Jergans made a stellar product and they have a self tanner in shower lotion that is worthy of a try!

    • Isabella Muse

I’m not much of a bronzer person but I’m quite curious to try it out! My legs are super pale since they’ve been hibernating all Winter ;-D gonna buy the self tannner and see how it goes thanks for the rec!

  • Kirsten

I love this moisturizer! Because it’s so slippery and applies quickly, it makes things that much easier. Also, I’m a fan of Jergens cherry almond scent. It doesn’t last but that’s ok with me. They must be using a decent grade mineral oil in this stuff. As far as I can tell, it’s the glycerin (excellent!) and mineral oil that do most of the work in this product.

    • Isabella Muse

It really is fab stuff ;-D just makes apply body moisturizer easy!
