About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Unfortunately I can’t do the blue green eyeshadow combo, but beyond that isn’t this the second or third time in the last year there was a b@tch in the title or description? I thought I got an email last year that said hey b@tch or something like that. I’m trying but some of this is just too much.

they are trying to reach a younger demographic..? bitch is cool? shrug…!

I wish I had waited for this to hit Sephora! Mine doesn’t arrive until Friday.

I feel like Tarte is having an identity crisis. It appears they are torn between being a more naturally sourced cosmetic company and trying to be Too Faced’s annoying kid sister. I hope they figure it out becausethey have a lot of great products. Their brow gel is my HG and they are one of the handful of blushes that don’t break me out. But I opened the icy betch email and honestly rolledmy eyes.

you are so right. They have been confused for the past three or so years. Truly, I don’t understand their direction. Most of the PR reps are millennials but even from a millennials stand point some of their collections are just immature at times. I def mentally roll my eyes too!

They seem to be casting a ridiculously wide net, demographics wise. Does that strategy actually maximize profits?? I wouldn’t think so because otherwise everyone would be doing it, I would think.

It seems incredibly confusing who they want to capture. late twenties? teens? tweens? anyone 30 and above is likely out but they are still sort of hanging on to at least those that are 27-29. Oddly enough their PR team is around that age or maybe a little over it. Jen has a baby/family and deanna too! So, they aren’t even their own PR team’s demographic in some ways. It’s just really all over the place. Too Faced is though as well. I keep trying to make sense of it and think back to 5 plus years ago and how I’d feel about this palette at this point but I grasp for straws when I do. I’d probably flip over the colors five plus years ago but not so much the name which I’d likely see roll eyes at. Also, they seem to be wanting to capture a game of throne type market with this which really does my geeky head in!

Ma’am, I’m 22 and I think the name is ridiculous. I don’t want my makeup swearing at me…! Is it too hard to keep it classy or, at the very least, neutral? But I did buy it because the shades look lovely!
