    It’s amazing what packaging can do. I don’t see that these shades are all that special, yet people will buy it because they’re into the TV show (and the pop-up is pretty wild!).

    What’s interesting to me with palettes that are wrapped in pop culture packaging is that unlike other pop culture merchandise”�such as T-shirts”�once the product is on your face, it’s just another shimmery peach eyeshadow (or whatever) with no obvious connection to the thing it’s named after. But I suppose people like to collect the packaging. And having something cool or pretty on your vanity is nice.

    At least with lipstick you can take it out in public to retouch (not that anyone around you is really paying attention to the packaging”�unless it really stands out, like Guerlain’s mirrored lipstick cases).

    All that said, I do admit to buying a couple products from Disney-Colourpop collabs”�but at least they were inexpensive! 🙂
