It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Makeup Primer+ Isn’t a Tinted Moisturizer

Well, we aren’t getting a tinted moisturizer from It Cosmetics but we are getting Your Skin But Better Makeup Primer+. It Cosmetics teased a new product launch on social media last week and I thought maybe it was some sort of tinted moisturizer but it’s actually a new hydrating facial primer!

According to It Cosmetics it’s oil-free and “makeup gripping” to extend the wear of your foundation and it can be used by any skin type. It contains Glycerin for moisture, Bark Extract to gives skin a smoother texture, and Ginger Root to smooth. It’s also alcohol-free but it does contain silicones!

I have been absolutely in love with Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer! It’s super hydrating, smooths skin, and foundation applies over it beautifully but it sadly, does contain alcohol! I’d be curious to see how It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Makeup Primer compares. I’m hoping it just isn’t a repackaged version of Bye Bye Pores Primer Oil-Free Poreless Skin-Perfecting Serum Primer though as I wasn’t a fan of that formula!

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Makeup Primer+ is available now.

Hi Isabella, Isn’t It Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation a tinted moisturizer? I just bought it for the first time a week ago. I have to say, it do like it, especially for running around on the weekend if I don’t feel like putting on a full face of makeup. It has nice coverage and it is definitely moisturizing, and I like that it has a really good sunscreen in it. I would consider it a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen.

I’ve never really considered it a tm because it’s so damn pigmented 🙂 But the formula def is a hybrid that provides plenty of moisture and coverage ;-D

I have had weird results with the Milk primer, sadly, so I’m really unconvinced about gripping primers these days. It acted like glue on my face and product was clinging really unnaturally to it… 🙁 Have you tried the CoverFX one that’s a similar “grippy” primer, and do they compare?

    • Isabella Muse

Really? I liked it a lot! No stickiness/tacky feel! Quite hydrating but the alcohol is an issue for me :-/ No I haven’t! Which one from CoverFX?

It’s called Cover FX Gripping Primer and it’s always sold out at Sephora 🙁
Tati Westbrook reviewed it on her YouTube channel and said it was amazing, but I’ve never tried it as the last few times I stopped in, they’re sold out! Just the sample bottle on the display and when I tried a drop of it on my hand it seemed more smooth than the Milk one

ok, listen to this, I read your comment but didn’t get a sec to reply so I noticed it was in stock, popped it into my cart today and was about to reply to you and it went out of stock LOL! the irony of it all ;-D I feel bad bc I haven’t really been paying much attention to Cover FX lately and this sounded interesting enough to try 😀
