Milani Celestial Highlighting Palette ($19.99) is a new 3 pan creamy gel highlighter palette that gives cheeks and your face a dewy luminosity.

Yes, dewy.

I have a full face so, dewy isn’t my finish of choice. I love sparkle and shimmer in my blushes and highlighters but I feel like dewy puts a spotlight on my full face. I decided to check this out anyway as I’m craving all the sparkly, glow-y things for Summer this year!

If you’re a highlighter fan girl or guy, if you love glitter and sparkle, if your quest in your makeup life is for your highlighter to be seen from Mars, I would say you’ll get on famously with the Milani Celestial Highlighting. This is a dramatic highlighter palette with amazing results however, I am not the person that should be using it! Someone with way more makeup skills than I possess with likely make this look amazingly beautiful! I posted a photo in daylight to today on my Instagram story feed which I’ve screenshot in this review so, you can see how intense a sparkle this creates as the photo I took inside isn’t nearly as dramatic. Keep in mind this photo is eight hours of wear! It just shines on and on and on and on….!

The palette arrives in Milani’s customary gold packaging with a clear lid. Each highlighter looks like a little planet! They have a swirled marblized design that’s very pretty. The shades

Shades:

  • Starry Moon (iridescent pink)
  • Golden Galaxy (brassy gold)
  • Lunar Rose (rose pink)

The palette is made in the USA and contains 0.34 oz of product for $19.99 but I used a coupon code for 20% off and got it for a bit less (code GETITNOW).

This formula is a creamy gel-like consistency that’s very, very soft. So soft in fact that when I swirled my brush in the well the entire pan of highlighter actually moved and became a bit smooshed. Use a very, very light hand when handling these to avoid squishing them!

They aren’t really as pigmented as the swatches I’ve seen online for the most part they are pure crazy sparkle and glitter with a hint of tint. These SHINE bright! Wow! These highlighters are the most intense, dramatic highlighters I own. They are just stunning but not exactly my ideal look for work 🙂 A little seems to go a long way. I had no trouble applying them. I have drier skin but the formula feels lightweight and hydrating on my skin with a smooth, easy blend that doesn’t adhere to drier areas! I think they creamy gel texture really helps the highlighter look smooth and flawless compared to powder which can have a cakey appearance or one that clings unevenly to skin! However, if you have oily skin beware as they produce a very dewy finish! It’s like I took a dip in liquid metal. The finish has a very intense metallic sparkle that appears wet. I expected the wear to be rubbish because of the dewiness but I can get a solid eight hour sparkle from these shades. It’s pretty impressive! However, it can also be easily overdone! You won’t see this indoors but once you get outside in the sunlight whoa! I think you’ll notice in my photos inside and outside how different things appear.

If you’re all about dramatic makeup I’d say Milani’s Celestial Highlight Palette brings it!

What a fantastic little palette with killer results.

Would you say the formula is anything like those flakey foil quads they had for eyeshadow?

Wow, I saw your HL outside from the Kuiper Belt. But your eyes are equally as blazing!

Boy you aren’t kidding with that Instagram pic. Hey, btw, what lip product are you wearing in that pic? Now that’s the real winner! It’s very pretty whatever it is…

OMG! So pretty you are in this. I was just looking at this yesterday after you posted the eyeshadow palettes. I have this in my cart, one of the palettes and the luminosity kit they have for $25. I want, I want but I don’t need. My addiction to sparkle says yaass my pragmatic side says you already have two highlighter drawers and a cupboard full. Lol. Wonder which side will win?

oh my gosh thanks! I really need those new shadow palettes haha…! And yes, some sort of logic is telling me, no you don’t need them but the other side of me is like oh hell yes you do. By the way I think I owe you an email I have been so crazy swamped and I am deeply sorry for not replying sooner it got lost in the vortex of my inbox and I just saw it! I’ll be your way soon again so maybe we can finally have a makeup date ;-D

I wonder how this compares to Stila’s highlighters! They look similar. Curious to try!
