About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. $58 for that Sephora palette? Who do they think they are? That’s extremely overpriced, imo.

S stuff can be fab, but also can be iffy. I don’t think an 8 pan X .25 oz per pan at 58 is exorbitant at all. It’s a lot of $, yes, but it’s a $#,+ ton of product. S tends not to goof on their cheeks. I also think having light, medium, and dark versions was a good move. I’m not springing for any. Did get the BM desert: nice, varied shade selection, easy to blend.

I hope this will help someone else pick what they will buy. I just got the Milk glow oil stick in Astro which is the purple colour at the top of your picture. It’s a TINY stick, lip balm sized and if you wanted to use it on your cheeks I imagine it would be gone super quick. Like maybe a week or 2 max. That’s okay because on the cheeks it is just a wet looking sparkle with very little tint (I’m super pale an it doesn’t show up on me.) On the bright side it is beautiful as a lip balm, moisturizing and shimmery. That’s how I’m going to use it, not on my face.

I’m glad you mention Kiko sometimes. I forget about them but do love their products. How are the quality of Chantecaille blushes? Pigmented? For the ultimate in glowy blush experience, I recently got and recommend Beauty Bakerie cotton candy champagne palette. Its like a highlighter and blush rolled into one!

I cruised the CFX blush duos after day job. Suggest everyone see them irl, rather than just order online. Isabella, you’d probably be safe in a couple, but the peach, the cinnamon and the honey all had pronounced orange undertones. I like orange, but a wtf moment, nonetheless. Think i’ll Get the mulberry. But that one was unexpected as well. The matte is a purply Plum, and the shimmer/HL/topper side is bronze. At least swatched on me. So, check ’em out in person.

they are gorgeous but you are right they pull orange :-/ which I was sad about wanted more coral or peach!

I purchased the coral Dior Luminizer blush. I had been working on finishing up some old blushes and palettes containing blush. No new stuff til some of the old was gone. I liked the idea of the 3 Clinique Cheek Pop set, but I think it’s gone now. Still looking though and enjoying my Narsissist palette that I got a while ago.

I want the Wander Beauty blush palette. I’ve never tried that brand before, but it looks like it would work on medium olive skin. I really love Lorac color source blushes because I don’t have build them up like most blushes. Does anyone know how Wander Beauty compares to Lorac?
