Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde Eyeshadow Palette is the first Huda Eyeshadow Palette I feel like I don’t need! Gasp! I know right? Right now there are millions of people cheering that finally we are getting a cooler eyeshadow palette! But I’m sort of sobbing it’s not warmer. Not that I need another warm palette but I do like Huda’s eyeshadows. This palette does actually have cooler and warmer shades but I think it leans towards being more cooler and some of the pastels just won’t work for me.

The combo of shades is gorgeous though with pinks, golds, purple, berries, and some nice neutral shades. There are nine mattes here, one glitter powder, and the rest of the shades are metallics.

Shades:

  • Cosmic
  • Utopia
  • Ultraviolet
  • Nebula
  • Mercury
  • Haze
  • Off Balance
  • Galaxy
  • Libra
  • Crash
  • Momentum
  • Supermoon
  • Vortex
  • Hot Mess
  • Supernova
  • Karma
  • Gold Glitch
  • Frazzled

I think it kind of feels very Spring-like to me! But as Christmas is almost over in the makeup world and Spring is about to pop that does make sense. Believe me, as soon as September we’ll be hearing about Spring 2020 Collections. Ugh.

Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde Eyeshadow Palette is $67 and available now at Sephora.

I love cooler color stories, but I need another palette like I need VD. Also, I have found that many palettes are not in practice, as cool as the pix indicate. Do I want it? Hell, yeah, but strong resistance and good sense will prevail. (Even though good sense flies out the window, when it comes to makeup.)

So pretty but honestly, I am kind of over huge palettes. They are too overwhelming for me, lol. I used to love having big ones with lots of different colors but now I prefer like a 4 or 6 pan palette. It just seems more manageable. I used to feel like I was wasting bigger palettes because I would just have a go-to look that only used the same 4 colors!

I AGREE! I love my eyeshadow palettes I honestly do and I still get excited on some level when a new one comes out but honestly, I like a trio of shades and I’m good. It’s a lot less overwhelming sometimes!

I feel this whole space theme is biy played out by Jefree Starr Alien, Pat McGareth mothership, and even Becca Volcano palette has similar colors minus the turquoise aqua shade. I’m kind of over it. While Huda colors are more wearable but I feel that palette was better suited for spring festival type colors. For fall and winter, I want smoky shades, If some company can launch fall palette with Rich velvety navy smoky palette with starry night metallic colors that would be awesome! That’s something I don’t have in my collection.

I completely agree 100%. and I got the spring vibe too! Very Spring!

Don’t laugh but I’m actually going to pass on any and everything especially electronics while mercury is in retrograde until Dec 6th. I truly believe there is something to that ! I do agree that it looks more spring like but we all tend to wear what we like no matter the season. I just bought a glossy pink lip gloss from the Milan Ludicrous shine collection as I have so many burgundy fall shades.

LOL really? 😀 hey, do you girl ;-D I sort of do my makeup with the seasons! but it is true, just wear what you like! Doesn’t matter the season 😀

I cannot BELIEVE you know that Mercury actually IS in retrograde, and hence this palette name is totally appropriate and timely. I’m impressed. As to the springlike colors, remember how jammed up the seasons are. The day after Xmas, all the Easter things will be up in retail, so…. and TF usually issues a ‘cruisewear’ type collection in winter, too. Wear what you want, when you want. Get it and save it for spring, wear it the day it arrives, or don’t get it at all. Whatever you want.

Nope, I’m passing on this one. Way too sparkly and colorful for this old gal LOL

I did get this yesterday and have swatched but not used on my eyes yet. Yes, it’s cooler and I’m very glad for that; I had to return Lolita Por Vida for being too warm (though I love the first Lolita palette, it’s more pink/neutral). I’m fair, neutral-cool, and I love a good pastel, they are hard to find! (also love my LORAC Brunch palette) I get tired of everything being “season” oriented; I wear what I want, when I want; yesterday, I wore pale greens from Venus XL 2.

BTW, Mercury is retrograde from Oct 31-Nov 20, shadow period from Oct 11 through Dec 7. Peak of the retrograde (Mercury conjunct the Sun, called the “inferior conjunction”) is at 19 degrees of Scorpio on Nov 11.
